Ok, so, I'm sitting here in my living room, playing Lusternia and watching Building an Empire: Russia that my TiVo recorded from History International and suddenly, I hear this loud CRASH and then a screech and a second, louder CRASH. So, I quickly throw on my shoes and run outside and join a herd of neighbors similarly drawn from the surrounding apartments.

There's a mound of debris in the road and skid marks and we walk down the road a bit and discover a SUV crashed through a fence that runs behind the car wash about half a block away. The front of the SUV is down in this deep ditch and the rear is stuck up in the air - the SUV is at about a 45 degree angle. It had crashed through all the signs on the corner on its way to crash through the fence. Apparently, the SUV had collided with another car almost directly in front of my apartment building and then lost control and careened off the road half a block away. It must have been FLYING down the road. The other car apparently made it a little further down to the gas station.

I have no idea who hit who really, who was at fault, but it's a mess. The driver's ok, I think. One of the other neighbors heard him talking to the police. Glad I hadn't gone to sleep yet! All that racket woulda prolly freaked me out.

I am trying to melt chocolate to make puppy chow. I tried to microwave it. The settings confused me and so I hit the button which corresponds with the "Melt Chocolate" option. I did not notice that there was a "Melt/Soften" button that I had to hit first. So, I believed that the six minutes was intentional, thinking that the microwave was set down to 25%. I was wrong.

Why does everything I love have to burst into flames?

If it makes you feel better, it's actually really hard to set grain on fire using a microwave. You should be proud!

Diamondias: It's a kid's treat. You melt butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter together, then you take Crispix cereal and mix the two so the cereal is coated, and then you coat them with powdered sugar.

Aww, don't feel so bad. Microwaves and box foods are a real hazard. I once misread the heating time on the Kraft dinner preparation instructions to be "13 minutes" instead of 1 and a half minutes (they look similar!)

The noodles were permanently burned into the bottom of the bowl... which also happened to belong to our neighbour.

I hate when I work on something for two days and then, because I am 100% a ninny and don't save as I work, I lose it all because the program crashed and I had to restart it.
