My rant (since I hijacked with a rave): I can't! I've been applying to I-don't-know-how-many places in so many different fields for the last 2 years and I haven't had any luck whatsoever! D:

Try a temp agency? They find the jobs for you, and if you really like a place you're assigned to, and they like you, you can often go temp-to-hire. Almost every job I've ever had, I started out as a temp.

It'll probably be easier now that you're 18. It was for me, anyway.

Yes, same. You can be hired at 16, but I find usually no one wants you.

I was 12 when I had my first job. I lived in Fernandina Beach, Florida, on this little island called Amelia Island at the time. Got paid cash so as to not tip off the man that there was underage employment going on. It was awesome and tax free. I worked like four hours a day on the weekends for this pizza place where my mom worked. I went around putting flyers on cars and when I started the job, I got paid $3 an hour for it. I got a raise to $5 an hour when the boss drove by and saw that I'd actually put the flyers on the cars instead of throwing them away. It was cool cause my mom only made $5.50 an hour, and hers was taxed. Other duties (for when it was raining out) included putting toppings on pizzas, folding boxes and cleaning off tables.

When I turned 13, I got promoted, another dollar tacked on to my hourly pay and got to sell cokes and bottled water on the beach and carry pizza orders back up to the little pizza stand on the edge of the beach. It was really cool cause if I got hot or something, I'd just go swim in the ocean for a few minutes. My brother rented an apartment just off the beach, so after I got off work, I'd ride my bike to his place to shower and change, cause I usually wound up all sandy and then ride home or go see a movie or whatever.

That was the most fun job I've ever had. Sad, huh?

That does sound awesome. I used to spend the summer at the beach, but the closest jobs were at another beach 10 miles away, so I had to be lazy the whole time. Oh well.

On a similarly related rant, I saw what had to be the dream part-time job posted on my school's job listings yesterday (for what I want to get in anyway), but when I went back today after fixing up my resumé, it's not there anymore...

Flooding

So I've been having headaches for months, don't know why. Lately they've been getting worse, so I go to the doctors. Turns out I have chronic migranes.
