1. The mouse I'm using doesn't have scrolly wheel.
2. My fiance won't wake up and come online with me.
3. I have a report due today I completely forgot about because I didn't have this class (ANT101) last week, and there's no way for me to fake it, because it was about an exhibit at the Museum of Natural History.
4. I don't have class until 12:30 EST (leaving net at 12 EST) and have no one to talk to on MSN.

My rant is that I'm in class right now and I am getting really tired of my degree I thought I wanted to be a researcher but now I just find myself losing interest even in the things I like the most.
Still, I get to go home in 50 minutes...

Being a researcher sounds awesome fun, though.
At least you get to go for what you really want. My ideal jobs are unattainable for multiple reasons. (lazy in HS, not a good writer, etc.)
Iola2008-10-10 13:22:31
It would be, but you kind of have to have a pretty devoted interest in what you're researching. I love literature but am growing tired of just...the same old analyses, no matter how far into my education I get. It gets different for a while and is then samey. Basically I'm lazy and have no idea what I want to do with my life, and since I thought I did that's a tad annoying a thing to realise.

I'm sick. Got a very sore throat, achy, tired, and kind of nauseous.

Okay!
Drink tea. Mint tea, if you don't have mint oil to sniff to get rid of the nausea that way. Eat some honey SEPARATELY of the tea, maybe two tablespoons. Take a nap.
You'll feel a lot better.

Peppermints are good for nausea as well.

And clear carbonated beverages are too, like ginger ale or Sprite. Does your work have a vending machine?

We have a fridge with drinks and stuff in it, I think there's some sprite in there, also some orange juice, which may be good. I found some ice cream in the freezer too, so that helped with the sore throat.
Thanks for the well wishes and help though, everyone.

Orange juice would be good for the cold symptoms, but it'll make your nausea worse. Probably the icecream too.

I have such bad posture. When I think about it, I try to sit up straight, but I have to actually think about it and make myself do it. If I just sit, I slouch like crazy.
I swear, when I get old, I'm gonna be one those hunchbacked little old ladies.

...Someone called me on my lunch break! I've never been so mad! I specifically said in my message I take lunch from 12-1 AND THEY STILL CALLED. I hope a bus meets their face.

Me too! It seems weird, but I can't work unless I'm sitting in an awkward position. Right now my feet automatically planted themselves on the chair and my knees are up against my chest, so I have to bend over to see the screen.
And I also had to get a flu shot today

If anyone knows how to make this work without turning off the UAC, I've got 15cr for you.
UAC is evil.
Failing that, RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR?

I sit sideways on my computer chair, slouch leftwards and use the 'back' of the chair as a sort of arm rest. Bad for me, bad for the chair, heh.

It doesn't work. Believe me, that was troubleshooting step number one. Can't run as administrator. Doesn't work on its dedicated account. Can't run as administrator in XP emulation. Can run the installer in XP emulation (all installers are admin-priv by default). You can't -install- it properly, so you can't change the way it runs.

Everything has sucked since Tuesday.
Tuesday morning, I accidentally stepped on the kitten when I tripped over her, broke her leg in the process.
Wednesday, I spent from 3 PM to 3 AM writing my Graduation paper. Had to wake up at 4 to go to school on Thursday.
Thursday, I don't have a printer at home. I send my paper to myself in an email to print it out at school, but it turns out I sent myself the wrong file. Teacher tells me to get the 'f-- out of his classroom' because I have 'the most f'ing bulls-- excuses that any student has ever given him and I am a waste of space and air.' I call my mom to bring my laptop to me so I can retrieve my file and then call her again to get my charger, teacher tells me he's not going to take it once I got it printed. I tell him if i stay back because of him, I'm making his life hell next year.
Friday, I get my stitches taken out. In this time, I learn the stitches had been actually done wrong and too quickly by the doctor at the hospital. I still have a laceration as open as it was when I first got it--two mondays ago. Now I can't get it restitched, and with higher risk of infection.
