Option C being that it was, of course, an exaggeration and meant to encourage the anal reader for over analysis. content.gif

Yeah, I kinda figured it was a general exaggeration. Like when you say something like, "It took a thousand years to get through that line." Obviously, it did not take that long, but it was still a stupid long time.

I just assumed Myrkr meant that she's a hella fast reader, cause 2000 pages in one day is a bit on the 'thousand years' side. Course, I could be wrong and she's super-duper like that. laugh.gif

Either those textbooks have very little in actual text, or you are the world's fastest reader, or there is option C.

You read between 600 - 650 words per minute. Extremely efficient reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

That's about where I was and I doubt I could do the two textbooks thing.

Edit: Actually, I was the level above that.
Rika2008-10-21 19:32:49
Assuming you can sustain that reading for an entire 24 hours, both textbooks are just at 1000 pages, and you read at the upper boundary of 650 words/minute, that is 468 words/page. For a textbook, this seems to be quite a small amount.

And this is assuming you can read at 650 words/minute for 24 hours, which I am sure you can't.
Gwylifar2008-10-21 19:35:31
Oh! Well, if a quiz on the Internet says it, it must be true.
Diamondais2008-10-21 19:38:41
See, I've read that Address several times now. I could've run through it pretty quickly. If it had been something different, I couldn't have.

Not to mention the wording in that isn't too difficult, nor the metaphors and allusions. confused.gif

Lusternia is not mentally stimulating. I mean, it may have been, at one point, but now... it's more like reading a comic book filled with BAM! and SPLAT! as opposed to a textbook.

(Man, even if you -could- read 2000 pages in a day, would anyone honestly want to spend their day doing that?)

Yes. I happen to be a bookworm. hypnotised.gif I have lots of textbooks and regular books on a variety of topics, I usually read while on the train, before bed, while on the phone, while eating, and even when on Lusternia.

Oh wow! Look at me!

You read between 850 - 900 words per minute. Virtual Speed Reader. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

Yeah, because that website proves much.

Wow, when did this turn into "Myrkr knows nothing, come try to point it out!" instead of "LoR"?

So since your first post.

You know it's uncool to gang up on folks. nono.gif Especially over something as silly as how much/fast a person can or can't read.

Back to the purpose of the thread. Here's my rant:

I need to do laundry tonight, but it means having to take a 20 minute walk down one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city carrying my dirty clothes to get to the laundromat, then another 20 min walk back with my clean clothes. Because the bus system in Little Rock is so sucktastic.
Kharaen2008-10-21 20:32:36
Ignore Ardmore, he's just being bitchy like usual.

You have more serious things to consider however, Myrkr. I hope you can get your situation either resolved, or find a solution that works.
Diamondais2008-10-21 21:01:22
My lab is vague about where these Azimuth and Quadrant bearings begin. rolleyes.gif

If both N and S are 0 degrees, but once you pass the other it goes past the 180 degree mark, you can be at least nice and tell me which it starts at. sad.gif

Wait, you still have clean stuff?!? whatthe.gif Now you can definitely wait. Just mix the clean stuff in with the stuff that clean enough to still be the color its supposed to be, and you'll be fine. don-t_mention.gif

Lol, my parents are going to seperate and I am going to have to see where I live in the last 6 months of school, so what.

Gee guys, I wish problems like that where the worst to have in this good wide world, but they aren't. tongue.gif Just need to man up, chill, throw up some good music and tell yourself it's eventually going to be better. *g*

hm, what I am trying to say: You all should relax a bit more. happy.gif
