Maybe the streetlamp feels how much you rant about school and tries to do you a favour by confusing you so much you can't go there.

I took off the whole week so I could catch up on around-the-house chores, particularly those related to getting ready for winter. And one part in particular: three dead trees I wanted to cut down and stack for next year's wood. But my wife insisted on me waiting until today to do it, so she could be here... in case, you know, I let one of the trees fall on me. (Not that any of these trees in question are that big, but anyway...) So I dutifully waited.
Today, I got one tree down, and then my chainsaw gave up the ghost. I can run it about ten seconds and then it takes ten minutes to reset the chain. I couldn't even cut up the one tree I felled; it's now out on the front lawn. This was a cheap chainsaw made more for small trees and limbing, and I've had it a few years, so it's not a huge surprise. But I was hoping it could finish this one last job, and I'd buy a new, better one, more adequate to my land and its needs, next year.
So I went to Sears... and they have one chainsaw in stock. One as cheap as the one I have (but costing twice as much). No surprise, this is a smallish area, but the store up in Burlington also doesn't have them in stock. And can't get them.
So I have to order it online and it'll take a week to come in. And since I waited until almost the end of my week off to start the job, I can't possibly get the chainsaw in time. So I'll have to finish the job on some weekend, maybe in the rain or snow. Feh.

Last night I was watching a live talk show on T.V. Basically they had all the contestant for Miss South Africa there and the talk show host asked various questions to each contestant. The next contestant was a gorgeous young woman who vaguely looked familiar and then it suddenly occurred to me that we used to hang out at varsity! I knew she was a model and all but running for Miss South Africa...
My rant is...we lost touch 2 years ago.
She is a lovely lass, I hope she wins.
I'll try and post a picture...if there is one available.

Also, every morning when I walk to school and I approach the light cast by a streetlamp, the light goes out. Poof.
This was absolutely hilarious whenever there was a group of people maybe 30 feet in front of me and they'd look back and see my darkened silhouette walking quietly, but now it's just getting annoying. And spooky. Happens every day.

Hmm. You go to high school so do you pass the street lamp at EXACTLY the same time each day?
Is it just timed to go off?
Any other streetlights in the area?

Plenty of streetlights, and my time can differ from either leaving ten minutes earlier than normal or ten minutes later than normal.
Maybe this is just some twisted subliminal message from on high!

That happens to me in the evening, with the only streetlight under a long stretch of trees, so when it goes out, the sky doesn't even light up the area. Fun

Weird dreams. Had two.
One: Urazial and Myrkr were looking for somewhere to celebrate that they got married, and wherever they went, Eventru popped up whack-a-mole style, until after a final stop in Faethorn, Viravain appeared and uppercut him, sending him off flying into the sky with a star and a -ding-, Team Rocket Style. She gave Myrkr and Urazial a thumbsup, and they threw their hands up in the air, and a talk-bubble appeared over their heads saying "YAY!"
Two: 200 new people joined the Lusty Forums and I was looking through their profiles.
... I think I'm addicted...

No hot water, and the water that's coming through is cloudy and white. It's supposedly oxygen and calcium so.. not dangerous, but it means no washing dishes or taking a shower. Woe is me.

My boyfriend has given me some sort of horrible bug. I have a fever, ache all over, my throat feels like it's the size of a balloon, and I get hungry then eat and then feel horrendously sick afterwards. Bahhh.
I really hope I am better before Sunday. I have a LARP game that I've been looking forward to for ages

So last night Ixchilgal and I decide to go to burger king and grab some food, and while waiting in line a couple Canadian inbred women start fighting. Everyone backs up and we all watch until they decide to leave and pretty much everyone in the place (staff included) is like "Wow... dinner -and- a show!".
So we eat and go to blockbuster and grab a couple movies... don't watch Cloverfield if you haven't already... good concept... baaaaaaad movie...
During the second movie (The Eye, much better, at least Jessica Alba is hot) the power goes out... we are used to this it happens a lot around here... but I am waiting for someone to come online to talk to and the power is not coming back... this is at like 10pm...
At 2am I decide to go drive around the city and most of it is blacked out... wth?... So I stop at a place that has people gathering and find out... a pigeon flew into the transformer grid and blew the main power for the city... wth?!?1... a pigeon!!!
3am comes around... power comes on... person has gone to bed... gah!!... log onto lusternia... Tied in VA referendum... wth?!?!
