My office was just invaded by a 2.5 inch long palmetto bug (or wood roach or water bug, depending on the area you live in). These are the only living things I am actually afraid of. And by afraid of, I mean a phobia of nearly disabling proportions. I ran into a wall, twice trying to get away from one once.

Man, you two would have had fun here several years ago when we got hit by the swarms of cicadas. Man, that was awesome, they'd fly around and bump into you and get tangled in your hair. I was outside talking to a cute girl I know during a school event, and one just flew into my mouth . I also had one land on my glasses and wave his arms around a bit, and several land on my ears. I had fun with them, I'd just catch them and let them crawl around on my face or my arm, and creep the girls out

Nah! cicadas are awesome! I love the sound they make! Though anything flying into my mouth would get an automatic, "Egh! Gross!"
Really, I'm not scared of any bug save plametto bugs. I think bugs are neat really. Bugs, spiders, snails, snakes, rats, mice, you name it, I'm not scared of it, and prolly think it's kinda cool. Except horrible horrible palmetto bugs.

I was saving up to buy a big terrarium and a boa (cause a decent set-up is really expensive), but since it looks like I'll be moving in a few months, I've decided to wait till after the move.

I don't eat bugs! Even if they are all protein rich and what have you. Everytime I watch one of those cooking shows where they fry up meal worms, it just grosses me out.

A cockroach? Seriously? Those are as harmless as they come!
The bugs I have the most issue with are the giant centipedes that come in for the fall (by winter, they've found themselves nests where people can't see them, but they're still inside somewhere). They don't have waxed exoskeletons, so they require humidity or they get hard and die a slow, paralyzed death. My room is 1) really close to the bathroom, where they sometimes hang out, and 2) more humid than most places in the house. No idea why.
Anyways, they're kinda cool to watch from a distance, but these are HUGE and poisonous. Not like deadly poisonous, but really painful bite poisonous. Did I mention huge? They're a :censored: to kill, and I don't want to scare one unless it's going to die, because it'll hurt me. I spend a lot of time in the fall staring at them, half because they're cool, half because I want to GTFO if it decides to join me in bed.

I had a 4 inch long one on my ceiling last night, over my bed. I couldn't even lay on my bed. I literally stared at it for ours. Then it fell on my bed. And a spider came out from under my pillow and grabbed it. I wasn't very happy.

Completely wrong scale. There are about the size of soda cans. A little bit skinnier, a little bit longer, but it's the right general idea. I'm not sure I'd be happy with a four inch long one, but I could probably look at one and reassure myself that it couldn't inject poison.

Aww, sorry. Would an infestation of earwigs that bite and cut be any better? I've had plenty of those back south.
