I hate how I don't have enough time for my virtual life now that my real life is getting busier. I miss being important (in my own little mind) to people who don't exist in a place that never will.

My turn. I love that magical reset button that lets Serenwilde go back to the same old thing it was doing before after every single event clearly intended to change things between the communes. Wyrd? RESET. Glomdoring not killing fae any longer? RESET. Fae wanting to go to Night? RESET. Needing to ask Glomdoring for help dealing with your dark past? RESET. I love it when negotiations are leveraged against the expectation that there will be no truly permanent consequences, and if you wait long enough, you'll get a deus ex machina. And I simply adore how people complain about getting exactly what they wanted at the end of an event, because not-nice things happened during the event. My heart's a-bursting with love for my fellow man these days.

I hate it when twerps who are old enough to know better and can't use punctuation to save their lives steal your pixies in the Serenwilde, and when you mention it to them, ignore you. The next time they take them, they claim falsely that you did it to them, then claim that you are pathetic, you refer them to CHELP PIXIES, which says NOT to take pixies from someone else, they end with a "you know what screw you" and snub you. The same person insists on blabbing nonsense over CT, such as "helpfully" saying "well i follow stag" when someone's asking for a Cone coven, and are exceedingly annoying in other ways the rest of the time.

Ignored! It's still taint!. Glomdoring not killing fae any longer? Doesn't make much of a difference in our eyes. Fae wanting to go to Night? Ignored for their own good!. Needing to ask Glomdoring for help dealing with your dark past? Yeah, like that was going to work out in the first place.
Ahem.
It's not a reset button, it's a lot of thinking and looking for loopholes on our part. The only one that that's kinda applicable to is the dark spirit thing.

when Glomdoring and Serenwilde had that one event Munsia was like F U I AINT ABIDING BY THIS SHIT and left to go to Celest. Or something along those lines.
Rauros2006-07-16 17:30:51
Why, Celest, why?

You know, I hate people who look for any little loophole they can, instead of actually abiding by the spirit of something. It makes things harder for everyone, and makes them look like assholes.

Our beliefs are more important than what Glomdoring wants.
So neh.
So neh.

Though.. it does provide unending amusement for me. White Hart is all about nobility and honor.. yet his creator and his followers are like "Nobility? Honor? that, we'll find a loophole!"
while Night and Crow are all manipulative, yet Glomdoring is perfectly happy most of the time to abide by whatever agreement people are willing to make.

Good for you. My rant was: Your beliefs are immutable. No matter how much the admin try to change game mechanics and reality, you come up with reasons why it doesn't matter (you just made this point yourself), and you can still hold on to your former stance. We'll never have progress or any opportunity to change anything in our current conflict if that goes on. No chance to ally against the cities. No chance to tone down the current conflict so we can fight with someone else for a change. No chance to focus on our common interests (Nature, protecting the fae). No chance to act out any conflict other than the "tainted"-untainted one. This game is supposed to have two axes of conflict, but thus far, one's been almost totally ignored in favour of the other, and this makes for far more boring game dynamics.

Your rant, as you stated it, was that everything that happened was completely undone, and overlooked. My point was it's not.
Sure, it has no effect on what we do, but it affects why we do things, and each time, we end up on slightly shakier ground.
It helps emphasise nicely, that we're not the good guys, we're not in this for peace, love, and harmony. It's where the fanatic thing really shines through. We can't stop doing what we do because when we do we don't have a leg to stand on in terms of how we follow our beliefs. The Moondancers have been played out since day one as a somewhat oppressive and defensive theocracy. They have a set of rules, designed to protect the Coven and Mother Moon. Those rules are held very highly by the leadership, and they are very harsh at times. Similarly, the outlook of the world on the Coven is such that whenever something like the recent events happen, our response is "How can we take that and still serve Mother Moon?". It's very challenging at times, and often leads to strife in the lower ranks of the guild, but it's how we do things. And it will take a lot to change it.
(Nothing matters but Mother Moon! Rawr!)

Every organization has had some changed forced upon them--be it skill changes, quest changes, rp changes, or mechanics changes.
Right now, the game is screaming for a change. It would be nice if the Serenwilde would make some attempt to play along. As players, you control your character's levels of fanaticism and rationality. In this OOC context, I'm sure you can see how the return to the status quo in the face of every attempted change does little but create more stagnation in the game as a whole.
It may be time to take a step back from your IC beliefs to have a look at the game as a whole.

Serenwilde is three or four people. Most of Serenwilde had no say in what went on in this matter.

I also hate having lag while dead, when nobody in the city has even noticed, and you're trying desperately to get onto the road to Celest, BUT NOOOOO! THERE HAVE TO BE EYE SIGILS JUST IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES!
Unknown2006-07-16 21:08:41
I'm a bit dissapointed in how Serenwilde acted during the latest event, though it's more an IC dissapointment than an OOC one. They let their pride and stubbornness come before the safety and interests of their forest - they don't care what happens to them as long as their perceived truth remains absolute.

I hate that nearly every bloody event with Glomdoring and Serenwilde, that a discussion with the commune leaders occurs. And even then, specific leaders don't tell us ANYTHING until after the fact. I hate it when people were in the event and doing fine, until all of a sudden the leaders appear and take complete control thinking that they know what they are doing when it is all hearsay.
I hate when stupid people are saying Serenwilde should obey honour and crap like that. White Hart isn't completely about honor, yes - he died a noble death, but he has never mentioned having to live up to a certain standards. Serenwilde is a commune of spirituality and mysticism in nature, nature isn't honorable. Deal with it!

Aye All of Serenwilde but 3 people pretty much heard.
"We are dealing with it."
"We have dealt with it."
Everyone else in Seren really had nothing else to do with it.
