Whats really interesting however, is the history of the word Soccer in America.

Soccer comes from the abbreviation of the Association of Football. (Assoc) as aposed to the other group which was Rugby Football.

How is two nil nearly getting owned? Though I do believe England didn't really deserve to win, Trinidad and Tobago worked their asses off and played brilliantly, particularly compared to England's lacklustre performance.

Half my money is on Spain, the other half on Brazil. Spain I just want to win... Brazil well they will win. I do hope Mexico does well but sorry Cor... Spain will own them.

I'm american and think soccer is the best sport in the world. Guido is just a prick and likes to hear his own voice in contrast to everyone elses opinions, so don't mind him. US is gonna do better against Italy though. I can FEEEL it. Go go USA.

Yeah, I saw the second half of the England game today and they were really doing horribly until they got those two goals in the last ten minutes.

I'm hoping for Trinidad and Tobago, although I know they're probably not going to win. That game of them against Sweden was pretty tense, though.

Brasil's probably going to win.

Trinidad AND tobago? why do they get to combine thier teams? I want, NewZealand and Sigapore!

No, it's just boring as hell. Most american sports are pretty boring as well - our football is even worse than your football.

And I agree, Americans are just pissy with it because they suck at it. As a matter of fact they suck at all sports; they just don't know it because they don't play anything other people are interested in (Baseball, anyone? Maybe bastardised rugby?)
