Coding in Lusternia

Well, I was just hoping to ask what is happening with the coding ability of our wonderful admin team? Now that Lisaera, one of our lead coders, is leaving... are we going to have trouble keeping up with everything that is necessary?

For one, are we close to finishing the rapture update modifications? There are a lot of projects still in the queue after this massive hindrance, and is it going to stretch you guys too far to get them done in reasonable timeframes?

Aetherspace, warrior modifications, the Ethereal plane, the other suggestions from the summits and so on... are we in trouble now?

I have heard snippets from various things Estarra has said on the forums. Although Lisaera was a main coder I know there are more people behind the scenes working as ephemerals who do various jobs as well. Staff members come and go, but when they join up there isn't a big fanfare "Woot! There is a little known ephemeral called... bob now!" whereas when a god leaves it's usually big news. I’m sure bob will pick up where Lisaera leaves off.

Go bob! cheer.gif

I'm just wondering about Lisaera's order. sad.gif

Serenwilde is going to have just one active God again.
Diamante2006-06-17 04:28:12
Do join the club, dear Tuek tongue.gif

It's only had one active god for a long time. We had a little break with Elcyrion in there though; and Lisaera's brother, way way back in the day.
Acrune2006-06-17 04:40:45
So, no more original gods still about, unless I'm mistaken. Ho hum sad.gif

Just Estarra and Roark.

Lisaera leaving is, of course, a grave blow. But Rapture updates are on schedule and we don't foresee a major setback. As a rule, the volunteer gods do not code in Rapture but rather use a special scripting language which is used for quests, etc. We do have one active volunteer coder, and IRE may be securing another coder for us.

(No, I'm not going to commit to a time schedule as we know what happened the last time I tried that!)

I know its all ability; thus making you even scarier.

Yeah, Lisaera went to Aetolia, and Hajamin to Ilyrias, and we're down to one genious coder (unless they're hiding more).

Hajamin went to Ilyrias?

That sort of..dampens my hopes about that game's Administration.

A guy gets in trouble on two different staffs, and you pick him up for yours?

That's just asking for trouble.
Vix2006-06-18 02:00:37
We have two (Estarra and Roark), not one. I wonder who gets the next promotion to paid coder?

Hajamin is the CTO (chief technical officer) and is pretty much one of 2 head honchos. He's actually a pretty decent bloke, and a pretty good coder too

He may be a good coder, but he's also arrogant and never listened to players who were showing him logs of bugs.. he would just say "Nope, i've seen the code, that's not how it works." in the face of actual proof. It was a bit rediculous sometimes.

They are going to have a censor.gif of a time getting things fixed if his ego hasn't been checked.

That, and we can't forget the whole breaking of very basic rules and abuse of privledges/trust thing.

Murphy2006-06-18 04:08:40
Dude you are so wrong.

I personally can testify that he listened to players better than any other admin, in fact i used to send him tells all the time.

Diamante and Ixion can both attest to this also, as can Daevos. Hajamin was always ready to work through bugs, and you could message him directly.

His ego is fine, stop trashing other people who aren't here to defend themselves, perhaps you didn't get listened to because you've no idea about combat
