The previous champion left or something.

All I can remember was that someone complained Mitch would take his/her spot.

I was the previous Champion. I decided to retire and enjoy being old for awhile.

Geb, you didn't read all my post? I said, 'not relating the two events'. That is, I'm not saying there is a causal relationship between the two events. I wasn't saying things got worse because I left; I was saying things were better when I left and that, sometime between me leaving and now, they got worse. Can you grasp the difference?

Why mention it then? You were inferring one, even though you out loud stated that you were not relating them together. So if you did not feel there is a relationship between the two, you would not have made your statement in the first place.
Verithrax2006-06-18 04:16:24
There was a relationship. A chronological one. And also one of perspective; when I was inside the Aquamancers, things seemed much better than now, when I'm outside looking in.

So, hes not the best fighter, and hes saying he won't do his basic duty as champion? Do I smell a contest?

Probably not. I'm too lazy, and apparently Forren needs a "reason" to contest tongue.gif

How some people become 'good' fighters in other guilds greatly astound me. Mitch, Ravlok, and many of the former Serenguards seriously sucked. Yet when they left the guild they were escalated to extreme status within other guilds supposedly due to their superior fighting prowess.

I remember one time we were testing Roundhouse with four or five Serenguards and it gave Mitch a scalped forehead. He subsequently died to the bleeding because he couldn't cure it and I felt really bad. biggrin.gif

But then Mitch is an aquamancer. Any Mage >>>>> Warriors now.
Forren2006-06-18 06:14:43
If I had a good IC reason to contest, I would. Do I? Not at the moment. That might change, though.

Believing that you can do a better job is all the reason you ever need to contest.

I do not agree with your statement. I see plenty of mages dying to warriors.

...so? That doesn't mean anything. There are a lot of mages with little combat experience or poor abilities/systems who go up against veteran warriors and get creamed, yes, but on an overall basis mages are far superior.
Kaileigh2006-06-18 14:21:42
Not to mention the fact that he's gone through al the skills that give combat usefull items just to get those an start a new skill. >.>
Marcalo2006-06-18 15:40:08
I remeber back in the day when I was a serenguard mitch is marcalo's protege, and marc and mitch were talking mitch said "I hate all this combat can't we all just get along or somthing." When ever he mentions his fighting abilities I think of that and giggle. Mitch is a alright guy, he just takes this game WAY to seriously like a good chunk of other fighters.

I can usually stand up to a mage of my might better then I can to a warrior or gaurdian. Maybe I'm not fighting the right people, or but...

I've also seen very good warriors kill very good mages. It is not a fact that all mages are far superior to all warriors. I know a lot of warriors want to feel they have it so bad, but I've played in other realms where some classes are really on the low end compared to others (I.E. Achaean bards), and warriors in Lust are no where near that point in my mind.

Is this directed towards me? If so, what does this statement have to do with how I disagree with another's statement that all Mages >>>> Warriors? If your statement is directed towards me, it seems you brought in a completely spurious point to the discussion.

I thought she was talking about Mitch, who jumps to another skill everytime he loses with the one he has tongue.gif

If that is the case, then my statement can be ignored. I have moved from skill to skill myself when they first came out, so I do admit I assumed that it was probably meant for me. It being right after Guido's post also gave me that impression. Anyhow, if it was not meant for me then the statement can be ignored, and I apologize for any negative tone that can be taken from it.

I meant trade skill. I sat there while making the post trying to remember what 'trade' skills were called and just forgot. He's been a tailor (has robes), a bookbinder(has the trans book thing), and a jeweler(transfix gem) since I made my alt. Blackout transfix blackout transfix is how he sparred my poor little alt. After he made it a combat spar without asking her because he knew he would beat her *seethe*

I hated Mitch when he was a Seren.. I can see he only got worse after his move.
