BUT, it would be nice if there was a use for them besides vain frippery.

This is mainly a summary of things I've mentioned in other threads, with a few more additions.

For example, the ability to crush flowers to make special tints (2 black roses for 1 black tint?), or added infusions to food. Or even perfumes! Totally useless, but hey, it'd be fun, and there'd be another use for bottles. Well, new flowers would be nice too. Jasmine? Cherry blossoms? Apple blossoms? Lavender? Chamomile? Maybe even black and crimson amaranths! Or even the ability to make tea from certain flowers.

Boots. As mentioned in my post in the Riding thread, 95% of Lusternia is barefoot. Even us fieldplate and fullplated people are barefoot. Blistering desert sands that burn our feet or pebbles outdoors that poke our feet, maybe! Or, like I also mentioned in riding, spurs that can be attached to boots, which can be dug into mounts to make them rear and kick.

Drinks do nothing but well, make you drunk (since they're mostly alcoholic). Let us infuse teas that can help cure! Like infusing sparkleberries into a tea can heal, but weakly, in addition to health and sparkles. Or like mentioned in the cooking post as well, a stronger infusion into wine which is stronger than sparkles, but can't be used frequently due to possiblity of addiction (alcoholics!).

Ooh, we can kill two birds with one stone by making tea from an infusion of herbs and flowers for a refreshing and invigorating drink

Awkay, so it's a little out of the way, but it's harmless to fantasize.

I don't like the idea of more cures. It would have to be seriously looked into and tested to see how it affects combat.

But wouldn't it be funny if mid battle you took a sip from a small cup of tea?

Teas arleady exist. They are part of cooking. There just aren't any recipes for them yet. If you are looking for some sort of healing property it would have to be an infusion skill in cooking.

Isn't it possible to wear boots? I have seen sandles around. That sounds like a design issue for tailors. If you can't wear boots with full plate, that needs to be fixed.

I have no idea what custom tints would be used for. But heck. go for it

I have no clue why people don't buy boots, since they're one of the few things you can wear with armor.

Perfumes could be a layered defence against stink, like insomnia is for sleep.

Curatives in cooking... eh. We already have scrolls on top of sparkles and elixirs, any balanced effect would be so small as to be negligible. Teas that give you temporarily increased endurance/willpower gain, or give gradual tiredness recovery... sure. But nothing that would have a significant effect in combat.

Boots, psh, some of us fly everywhere anyway. Walking is so last era.

No, no, it's not that you CAN'T wear boots. There are boots. But why have boots when they don't serve any real function? Might as well save the leather for a better weapon

And I don't know, maybe not healing, but something that "refreshes" you for endurance or willpower too, maybe. Kinda like proper coffee. Sure, it would take a lot of testing, but just tossing an idea out there. Right now all drinks do is make you drunk (I don't remember a tea pattern, actually. At least, my abilities don't include anything non-alcoholic, so perhaps there's a tea, but no real way to brew it).

I'm not pushing so much the need for something new and groundbreaking, rather the need for something more useful than Death, Love, Sleep and Botulism infusions. They seem to be novelty abilities, as far as I can tell. The only times I've been asked for them is if 1) the person has no idea how it really works. Death infusions sound a lot more deadly than they really are and 2) for pranks. This has happened once in my lifetime in Lusternia. Otherwise, just Speed and Constitution. I want to work with what we have (although we don't have teas).

Syntax: BREW
Brew up ales and beer. You must be in a proper kitchen and have an empty bottle in your inventory. To fill individual glasses with your brews, set the glass on the ground and POUR INTO GLASS.

Didn't know you thought about the perfumes already, Soll. Oops! Was just thinking up a use for flowers, since lots of us have already mentioned it's a pity there's no other use for them except decoration. Perfumes was a logical conclusion.

EDIT: Ooh... Avaer's post gave me an idea. An infusion that gives you temporary respite from tiredness! Like coffee!

I think I've used a rose to sew something before (yay flowerpot), but there aren't many designs that use them, and I could be thinking of something else.

Edit: Oh, and nice ideas. Except for healing tea. That'd be weird. *stabs you in the face* *sip tea*

... and boots exist... don't they? I'm 99.9% sure we've seen boots. (We being me)...

I find it odd that I now have gloves but no boots.
