Even better: Give Warriors the choice of Astrology, so it gets fixed faster. smile.gif

Yes, instead of Knighthood, so they have to kill with Sun dry.gif

And if Astrology replaces moon/totems for you, so you have to kill with nature curse and no aeon / darkmoon / etc! happy.gif

I transed this skill when it first came out dropping Healing entirely. Personally, I love it and it takes a long time to really even try to get a sense of 'mastering' it. The skillset probably takes the most coding to create a cohesive system of it. I think it would help if we had portable astrolabes we could carry possibly have a jeweler create them or something of the sort. I used to have a nice system which stargazed each zodiac and gave me a list of positive and negatives (lost it).

Because when your targetting someone and you want to choose a grid of all the spheres negatively charged you don't have a lot of time to go back to your hovel and stargaze. This combined with the fact that spheres change so rapidly kinda increases the need to have portable astrolabes. I think astrology is more of a support skillset it's rather passive at times and it shifts depending on the situation. There's some great buffs and debuffs if you can get them off. And let me tell you influencing villages with a 20% ego increase IS nice. Putting a magic debuff on someone who can't take it off IS nice.

Astrology still gives me a headache and I use a lot of guesswork when doing it. If you suck at coding (which I do) You probably don't want to take it unless it's for roleplay primarily (which is what I did).

Astrology is good for guardians though I think there are some nasty combinations you can dish out with it. Combined with the new symbols out you can aeon with aapek? and paralyse with an angel wacking two afflictions down. There's a lot of combinations still and it was greatly improved. But there is a lot of spontaneous guess work.

I like the passive buffs too increase intellect and constitution. All that jazz is nice, astrosense is nice, I like astroglide too if I get stuck on a astral plane. There are a lot of good things about this skill set which are easily overlooked by the bad. It's bizarre for everyone at the same time. Spheres with positive affects that are voted an offensive action? Geez I try to sphere people and they think I'm trying to kill them.

The only nasty combination is Stupidity/Aeon (only possible rarely through stellium and constellation, even more rare when aapek is in retrograde). Symbols are nice but they add nothing to the effectiveness of Astrology, since both requires equilibrium to use. The only guessing involved is when you have two planets in a sphere when you are casting a sphere ray, for example, aapek and eroee in the same sphere and you wouldn't know which planet will hit. In which case, I suggest running away and hide until the stars are aligned a little more to your advantage.

And the recent change to buffs means that astological spheres like dolphin and skull are no longer as powerful as before.
