I doubt Fain gives a flip about a mortal's sword. the Zap was enjoyment enough I'm sure.

How was it horrible RP? Isn't it -her- RP? We're all so quick to judge!

Well, Fain said over GTS to "tell him if she didn't give it back"
so I assumed he was planning to take it back.

No disrespect meant about someone's RP, but when a Paladin makes a promise to "Sacrifice" herself for someone who has slain Angels and Cherubs many times in the past, doesn't it seem like that's a bad example to set for the Paladins?

Well, touche, but a God giving a moment's thought about a mortal's sword seems kinda silly. Doesn't Fain have better things to do?

If she wasn't gripped, it was her own fault.
If she was gripped, you truly have no clue how low of a fraction of a percent chance coule has to disarm someone who is gripping, Icarus.
Really, now? I always keep grip up as a defense, yet I used to have to go back into the arena countless times in order to retrieve a hammer. Luckily, it hasn't happened in a while, nor out of the arena, but I think I just got better at avoiding parries.
And if that's what's going to happen if I ever lose mah hammers to a coule...I better go get me some arties
Ixion2006-06-21 04:10:37
In all my time in Lusternia fighting, I can only remember having my weapon knocked out of my hands twice from coule.
Once was when I was undeffed/relaxed grip.
The other was gripped.

The other was gripped.

Yes, its a bad example to set for the Paladins, but it doesn't make it bad RP. Maybe Malicia (the character) isn't a good Paladin? That doesn't make it bad RP. No fun if all characters are perfect.

to spite Terentia? She didn't interupt the deal when it was happening, more than happy to let Malicia get her weapons back, but quick enough afterwards she gets Malicia out of the deal. I could see Fain giving Terentia the divine finger by taking it back
Unknown2006-06-21 04:15:21
It's a bad example, yes, but when has Malicia ever been good at... anything?
Ixion2006-06-21 04:15:55
After the following occurred, I find it is taking a significant amount of discipline to not flame Someone.
Message #1262 Sent by: Malicia
06/21 04:03 "I'll be keeping to my oath. Lady Terentia has given me Her
approval. I should have spoken with Her first."
I bet She did give Her approval, after making me pray. While She is in the mood, why don't I get zapped a few more times, and THEN get what was already promised to me.

She already broke the oath by not sacrificing for you after you got zapped. Bring on the swords.
Athalas2006-06-21 04:20:10
It woulda been hard as she herself was praying.

Gods, you are annoying.
To tell you the truth, Malicia has been one of the women of the game that are great players and characters. I would put her in par with Athana. And she is a decent fighter. She's not a Murphy, but she's a good fighter.
You seriously are annoying

He's right though.. Malicia (the character) has never really been a completely 'good' example of her guild.
As a Serenguard she was married to Amaru, who was waging war on Serenwilde a good portion of the time, and she was always jumping to Celest's rescue with Narsrim.
As a Paladin, she's making oaths with Taint.
If anything, it fits. Its not necessarily Bad RP if its consistent and is actually a flaw in her character.
Athalas2006-06-21 04:22:54
I'd say a bit better than athana... Malicia isn't a shrub.
Unknown2006-06-21 04:23:14
Malicia La'Saet.

You cannot be rezzed from divine zap.
Divine cannot even rezz from divine zap (this is due to a bug.. I believe, however)

Athana hangs out with Revan.
Malicia hangs out with Amaru.
Revan just happens to take other people down with him.
While Amaru is a genuine asshat.
Athana ftw!

I'm just pissy. This individual event hasn't really stirred the waters, so to speak - they were choppy to begin with.
Unknown2006-06-21 04:26:51
I think that was very interesting. Malicia, I think, however could have possibly bartered better. I think both did a nice job at the RP. And...GO FAIN!

Well, Kahazul married Daxera. And her jumping to help Celest is just trying to get good politics with those who give you enchantments.
Silly game. A sadist it is. They try to create conflict with those you depend on. It's either getting potions/enchantemts or fighting them off to gain more power and influence over the basin. But this is part of another thing.
Her making deals with the Taint. She's a Paladin. Yes, they need to vanquish those tainted scum, but they also believe in honour. There are those who were willing to admit that "even if Murphy is tainted, he is a good fighter." Just look at Murphy and his ego stroking/good samaritan way of being him. He shouts at the top of his lungs that he killed someone and that he has the corpse but he's willing to give the corpse back. It's a way of mocking the other side, but there is some honour deep inside of it all.

I don't get it. Is that supposed to be a crappy family of bad players?
Well, Athana did marry Revan
