As a result of a project for a PHP programming class I have finished what I've come to call the MUD Logs. It's an archive which relies on your contributions. If you have anything that you wish to share, to simply just want to check it out, please head over and take a look.
Any feedback on the site is welcomed. You may send me PMs here or (prefered) use the contact form on the site.

Hey, that's pretty nice. Will be useful for hosting combat logs.

Thanks alot!
I have allready been given alot of feedback and interesting ideas for the site, some of which I will most likely use. Don't hesitate to send me more, or to fill that archive up.

The MUD Logs site has moved to http://nogfx.org!
Unknown2007-10-14 20:22:09
NoGFX (no graphics) has just been pimped to version 2.0! Among the initial new features you'll find ANSI support, as well as a tighter but easier to use account management. Because most of the workings has been reconstructed, you will all have to re-register to be able to post logs. All old logs has also not made its way into this new site, but they will in due time.
The ANSI support should also support zMUD's homebrewn variant. It's kind of slow in parsing currently but I'll optimize that once I get the show fully on the road.
Next on my list is commentary and rating functions, as well as implementing controls for editing and removing your logs. If you wish to do manage your logs more than what the site currently allows, please contact me and I'll help you out.
When you register, all you need to supply is a working email address. The password will then be sent to your mail, and you can then login to change it to your liking. To post logs you will then need to attach characters to your account. This can be done under Settings -> Characters. When you add a character, my loyal servant Sam Weller will send you an validation code, in game. Use that to validate your ownership of the character. After which you are free to post your logs!
Questions? Feedback? Complaints (hah!)? Send them my way, either in PM or mail (tobias dot sjosten at gmail dot com).
Oh, and the adress is still: http://nogfx.org/

A little update.
The ANSI parser took tens of minutes to parse this log and that's just way too long. So I rewrote the parser from scratch. It now loads in a few seconds but it's not perfect yet. I will fix that, and the see to the various feedback I've been getting. Thanks for all the rapports thus far!

It'd be nice if you'd change the width of the logs so that you don't have to scroll over to read a full line. At least, I have to, and I'm on a 1152x864 resolution on Firefox...

What are neocredits?

Bound credits you get for getting to certain levels, think it was 5, 10, 15, 20 etc. help neocredits should show ya in game
Unknown2007-10-15 20:09:37
HELP NEOCREDITS doesn't give anything.
Unknown2007-10-15 20:41:20
They're old. They were replaced with bound credits.

I designed it around the universal wrap width of 80 columns, which Imperian seems to be the only realm still using as fixed width. I guess I'll have to reconsider this approach.
The problem is the combination of wide logs, ANSI colors and multiple sequent spaces. Long logs could easily be wrapped by the parser or the CSS and be made to fit NoGFX, but the ANSI codes would count towards the log width but not be displayed as such or the spaces would be disregarded by the browser, resulting in either a (probably) very slow site or funky looking logs.
I should be able to figure something out because you shouldn't have to scroll sideways to view the log.. Thanks for bringing it up.
Unknown2007-10-17 07:38:16
There, I made the parser replace all multiple spaces with no-break ones which aren't disregarded when rendering. Then I could skip the pre-tag and have the div wrap the text at the correct width. Now if you post a log with too long a lines, it'll conveniently be wrapped for you when rendered in the browser. The data is intact but the output is still sexy.
I didn't go the suggested variable-width route, which would let the design increase its width along with that of the log. This is because of what happens when someone posts a long ass mud sex emote, with a wrapwidth of 0. The problem would still be there then. This way I hope to accommodate most people's settings.

Another bump from myself. Just skip reading if you're not into awesomeness.
I've just finished updated NoGFX with two really nice nifties! First one is filters for the log browser, with which you can now more easily find the log or type of logs you're looking for. A more advance search tool will be implemented when character-, class- and skill tagging enters log editing, but that'll take some more time. Meantime this filter will suffice.
The other nifty is a RSS feed! Now you can hook into that feed (http://nogfx.org/feed) and finaly be able to get a good night sleep again, knowing for sure that your RSS reader wont let you miss out on the action.
Hope it pleases! As always, the URL is: http://nogfx.org/

Holy crap, that log is old. I'm in that log laying down the law until my focusing trigger breaks and I stop curing stuff off of daegger strike.
