Yeah, there were lots. I flushed the archive because the logs and user accounts changed format quite some, which wasn't backwards compatible. To get the oldies into the new format I thought I'd create an "old archive" page, where people could go to copy their old logs and then resubmit them.

The ability to rate logs has now been added! You will need to be logged in to rate a log, which is done by giving it a plus (+) vote if you like it or minus (-) vote if you don't. Your vote then increases or decreases the rating of the log, giving a estimation of how good of a reading a certain log is. In time you'll be able to sort and filter the list of logs by this value.
I have also added controls to edit your logs. Unfortunately the submission feature didn't save which account (email address) you were using to upload the log, which means that all anonymous logs are totally anonymous and therefor cannot be edited. If you wish to edit one of these logs, send me a mail or message on these boards and I'll fix it for you.
Have fun with these new features!

I have just finished fixing up some major visual bugs and implementing some basic nifties such as the "remember me" function and a more innovative character handling. To summarize the changes:
* All forms now use proper XHTML, follows a unified look and have been empowered with descriptions of their function.
* Removed the free text filter from the log browser, as this will go into the more advanced search function when I get around to finish that feature.
* You no longer have to log in every time you're visiting NoGFX. Just mark the "Remember me" checkbox when you login and you'll be automatically logged in upon your next visit.
* The ANSI parser for the logs have been further optimized and made to handle even background colors. Thanks to Aetolia's Rinata for posting logs with background colors, which pushed me to do this!
* More than one person may now register the same character but only the one entering the correct validation code may actually activate and use the character. The bot responsible of sending the In Game message with the validation code now also throws an error when failing to do so. No more waiting for messages that'll never arrive!
* You can now also remove those characters that you've added by mistake! If none has the character registered (but not validated) when you delete it, you can re-register the character to have a new validation code sent, should you wish to.
* Overall pimped and made further awesome!
And here's a request to the good folks out there: I would very much appreciate a guide or even short description of how to log using whatever client you're on. This will me uploaded to NoGFX for others to learn how to contribute. Send it in a PM to me here on the forums or in a mail (address found at my profile). Proper credit will be handed out, of course!

Support for Charbal's HTML logger (zMUD plugin) has been added and KMuddy's HTML log support has been improved. A hex to ANSI color converter has also been coded and put in place, making future HTML formats a piece of cake to implement support for.
Summary: You may now submit HTML logs as well.

Ok, so I will be using this in when I'm done and over with my exams and actually start some fighting... but, ehm, how do I update looks in HTML colour and everything? (since it's too cool to miss!) I'm on MUSHclient.

If you want colors in your logs, you have two options. Either you log with raw ANSI colors (which is just the control codes Imperian sends to get your client to show colors) or you log in HTML. I personally do ANSI but you might feel inclined to be have HTML for some reason.
In MUSHclient you open your World preferences and go to Logging. There you select what file to log in (see help file for how to log to files using current date as file name, to get one log file per day), and you check the options you want for your logging. I recommend Append (so new sessions doesn't overwrite previous ones) and Raw (to get ANSI colors). That's it. You're now logging.
Ceren2008-01-21 17:09:45
What program do you read the log with if you logged with Raw and want to see the ANSI colors?

Try LogEdit out.

Everything seems to work a lot more smoothly with html, so I'll stick with that. Thanks though.

No worries. And for the record, again, NoGFX does handle HTML logs as well. Some formats might not work out of the box, but I'll notice them when you submit them and hopefully fix it pretty shortly thereafter.

I'm logging with MUSHclient having enabled HTML and Colors, but the colors don't get translated, it just gets horrible unreadable. My log file has this:
And when I paste it in the log box on Nogfx, it's the same thing... there aren't any colors, and the are showing... am I doing something wrong?

Looks like you're missing the html preamble and postamble. There's a button for adding it in the logging settings.
Unknown2008-01-25 16:04:19
Post the log in its entirety and I should be able to work with it and get you support for that format as well. Actually, if that's it then it should take me more than a couple of minutes to fix.

NoGFX has just recieved a batch of updates and I welcome you to check it out!
http://nogfx.org/
* The color theme has been tweaked to be easier on the eye. Overall it turned out even more sexy!
* Advertisement has been removed because it was ugly and not very profitable. I thought I'd atleast be able to cover the hosting bills with it but during the whole last year it managed to scrape together a meager $13USD, which I wont even recieve due to the payment limit being set to $100USD. So that's one year of free advertisement - you're welcome Google!
* You can now comment eachother's logs! I've been wanting this myself, to easier gloss over the mistakes in my combat logs. Along with this you can also add an "authors comment" to your own logs and even subscribe to logs so that you're notified by mail when someone posts a new comment. Log authors can remove comments from their own logs as they see fit.
* The start page has been armed with a list of the seven most recent events, including new logs and comments. If you're still not subscribing to the RSS feed, then this is an excellent way to check for news.
* When browsing logs, you can now order them as you see fit. You may also limit the results, to make the page load faster and skip pointless waiting if the logs you're looking for isn't even in the results.
* You can now see which logs you have voted for and how you voted directly when browsing logs, so as to make it easier to know which ones you still haven't voted for. Logs you haven't voted for have their total votes number colored grey, logs you voted positively for have theirs colored green and negative votes gives red colored total votes number.
* Added a FAQ which currently is pretty slim but intended to grow with user input. One thing I would greatly appreciate (and of course give full credit for) is tutorials for how to log with the different clients out there.
As always - I'm grateful for any feedback I can get. And I might very well have forgotten some updates I promised to do. If so, just remind me.
The next update I'm looking at, due to popular request, is to offer the old logs up for claiming and importing to the new system.

Does it autoconvert color or do I still have to change to html?

Depends on how you define "color". If you mean ANSI color codes (or "raw logs", as some clients call it) then the answer is yes, it will show those properly. That's also the preferred format (see the FAQ).

Thanks for all the great feedback! Based on that I hereby present some more updates to NoGFX:
* Fixed a bug which made ratings not display properly. No data was broken though, merely the displaying of it! Also added a little explanation on the numbers and colors.
* Having ALL users subscribe to ALL logs wasn't perhaps my brightest idea. That's been remedied and you are all now only subscribing to your own logs. The auto subscription option (found in Settings, defaults to on) makes you only auto subscribe to your own new logs and logs you post comments in.
* I modified the log browsing page to better work with browser's back button, as well as giving you URLs which can easily be re-used to list the same results later on, or to show others.
* Improved some edit boxes to automagically adjust themselves with the height of your comment alá "Facebook style".
* You can now see how many subscribers your own logs have.
* Fixed a bug with comments URLs and IDs in the RSS feed.
