I want artifacts with a little more intrinsic RP value.
Maybe something Org-specific, like rings.
Ring of Wyrd/Night/Crow
Ring of Taint/Nil/Earth
Ring of Light/Water (I'd add Celestia..but that's just redundant)
Ring of Forest/Moon/Hart
And it'd be like a replacement attack for lower attacks, like I'm not sure what non-forest people have, but the forestal rings would do sickle/athame type damage. Nothing strong or anything, but you could like
Channel and you'd channel whatever through the ring and straight at the target.
Or maybe like Circlets devoted to the Last Nine. And they'd each do something different, like maybe you could get the krokani race ability of seeing through illusions if you have the Circlet of Tzaraziko, or maybe the faeling forest regen if you wear the Circlet of Kiakoda, or a cane of quickening type thing if you have the Circlet of Shanth.
Or what about.. The Garland of Lolly, and it would give some defense against dreamweaving (Again, I'm not really sure what all dreamweaving does, but it could defend against something in the skillset.)
Just more RP-based artifacts would be neat.
Edit: And of course, for the rings, you'd have to get whatever, based on what organization you're in. No getting a Celest ring if you're in Serenwilde, or a Glom ring if you're in Mag, or anything.

Well, my weekend sucks insofar as the phone company decided to cut my service this weekend instead of next weekend when I'm actually moving. This limits what I can do to whatever is possible from an internet cafe.
How hilarious would it be to walk into an internet cafe, glance over the shoulder of someone there, and see Estarra's 'score' sheet?

Upgraded changeling cameo that allows you to change every lusternian day.
Unknown2006-06-25 01:17:00
I like the idea of the artifacts having an RP base - it would be like owning a piece of history. Could just change the names of some of the earlier suggested artifacts. 'The Athame of Rowena', 'Ladantine's Amulet of the Dreaming', ect.

What she said.
Or an addon for the changeling cameo that let's you assume one set of racial stats while retaining the look of another race would be cool too.
Also an artifact that let's you understand all languages.

understand and speak?
A DRUID ARTIFACT THAT DOES THIS
FOREST DISGUISE
Syntax: FOREST DISGUISE
Using your advanced skills in druidry, when you are in the forest you can now appear as any animal that walks the forest.
This skill I think would work a lot like the masks to in Imperian. It would change your description totally to look like the animal of choice, and your appearance when you walked into a room. One would see the exact same room entry appearance as the creature that you chose.
1. The animal would actually have to be an existing animal in the forest and you have to be in the same room with this animal when you do it.
2. It does not work outside the forest. If you exit the forest in this disguise you will automatically look normal again.
3.You gain no attributes of the animal. This is more like an advanced form of camouflage.

You know, the monocle thing where observe takes no balance should be moved to the Spectacles of Sight. SECRETS sucks.
Oh hell yes. I have specs because they're neat, not because I have ever used SECRETS in my life, aside from when I first got them, for novelty of being "I know there's an exit here. Oh look, I can see it! 100% chance."
Secrets should be 100% ALL THE TIME, default.

Yes of course.

Actually masks in Imperian work a lot differently. You can't "look" at them to even see their description, unless you know there name. It's meant to allow you to speak anonymously and do little else.

As for Faeling forest regen, we already have level 1 and level 2 regeneration artifact runes for health mana and ego.
I think it would be neat if there were a way to recall to your manse fulcrux from where ever you are, as an add-on to tesseract.
PSYCHIC BEACON
Once implanted in your manse fulcrux you may thereafter locate your manse through the folds of the planes and aether and call yourself back to your home. You gain the additional ability to Tesseract Manse.

You can if you're an Artisan.

*shrug* So many of these are copies of guild skills anyway.
Plus, I didn't know how the artisan skill worked.
Unknown2006-06-25 04:21:26
Make it after artisinals?
Oh, and can someone find that ancient post from the one year celebrations when we were offering artifact ideas? I would love to see some of those ideas brought to the table again.

I think you want this.
Natarm2006-06-25 04:44:06
A Llama mount!
Er...
Ok, seriously now.
Why not a couple of artifacts which add to your base (Str/Dex/Con) attributes? I don't remember seeing any of those anywhere for available relic purchases, but then I'm a noob.
I would find a way to get several thousand credits in order to pay for a +Str artifact. Even if I am a total newb.

No +stat artifacts, no artifact weapons. We shall not sink to the depths of the enemy.
Xenthos2006-06-25 05:30:47
I want an artifact that lets me buy from villages that I'm not enemied to, but where I am enemied to the controlling org. A quill or something. "Our liege lords don't like you? Well... sure, you look like a trustworthy sort to us, so we'll do a little under-the-table trade. Enjoy!"
Silly Seren villages.
