One of reasons IRE uses auctions, I'd guess, is for the very fact that they expect to make more selling items that way. It would make no sense to charge more if the item was available through the auction shop; there wouldn't be the same alure.

GO DAMN IT! STOP SELLING THAT SOAP!
Druids CANNOT kill someone who owns magic soap now. There is NO way of doing it. This pisses me off so much.
Our ENTIRE offense is based around getting sap to stick. When someone has magic soap, they can scrub needing only balance and eq. They can scrub while paralysed. They can scrub while entangled. They can scrub on the ground with broken limbs. There is NOTHING WE CAN DO TO GET SAP TO STICK, and thus, NO WAY WE CAN KILL THEM.
Estarra, if you are going to sell more of that soap, give us a way to kill people that isn't saplock. PLEASE.

I could post something about adding something to help the pureblades kill someone without behead or how Axelords are so useless.... but I won't

Is there an artifact that makes someone immune to your offense? Or is it a balance issue that is in the middle of being addressed?

Yeah it is called a healing system.

Yeah it is called a healing system.
And unlike the soap, every decen combatant has one
So yeah, it's not like they are giving 20 soaps
* And isn't the magic soap a buffed up cleanse enchantmen?

It's a cleanse enchantment that can be used while entangled, paralysed, and sprawled on the ground, and with broken limbs.

That's what I thought it was supposed to be. However, SCRUB currently works when you're PARALYZED AND WEBBED. For some REALLY ODD REASON. I know I can't bathe if I can't move.
So that means the soap can't really be stopped at all. It's immunity to sap.
Unknown2006-06-27 06:49:46
doesn't rub also work the same?
And either way.... How many magic soaps are there again?

No.
And it doesn't matter... any magic soap in the hand of anybody == immunity to Druids, essentially. Scrub really needs the same limits as rub.

They should just make soap unlimited cleanse enchant that always cleans on the first try. Doesn't need to be able to be used at any time... it should just be a cute gimmick.

Just mod scrub to have the same restrictions as rub, and that's what it would be.
Soll2006-06-27 09:17:03
Yeah, I think soap would be better if: It couldn't be done while paralysed/entangled, but had say, half or a third of the balance of scrubbing in a river.
(On the idea of entangled, maybe you could rub the soap against the ropes and just slip out of entanglement. You know how they do it in cartoons. Maybe soap could also halve writhing time. )

Seriously, the soap should not be being sold again, it's very unfair towards druid (Trust me, I have it, I know!). Similarly, I think it's a mistake auctioning more neverending vials.
Sylphas2006-06-27 12:02:40
You can't compare this to Pureblades. A healing system? No, this is more like an artifact that nulls all head damage.
Riv2006-06-27 14:44:52
I've never understood why people think the never-ending vials are so messed up... it takes away ONE person from having to buy health or mana or bromide refills which just means that opens up the door for another person to get those refills... where's the problem?

I know I would be annoyed if I ever managed to actually possess someone and the only thing I wanted them to do is empty their health vials... of course I want to see that ability reversed but that another story...
Soll2006-06-27 15:12:35
They still have to get refills of -every- other type. And it's, what? Currently there are six(?) sets! That's all! It's just really not as bad as you're making out, atall. They still need the purgatives, the salves, the elixirs. And they paid more for the damn vials than they'd ever pay for as many refills as they would have needed. It's just not a problem.
Unknown2006-06-27 15:28:22
Yes, but you see, it's the fact that while you're bashing in a gorgogs face or trying to kill some one in a raid, you WILL NOT run out of a health vial..
