As a human with 13 strength my shieldstuns are about 3 seconds of stun.

The reason I would use smitedown after the shieldstun and not with it, is because your not going to get the wounds high enough to give them a concusion or something else thats bad enough to be able to knock them down again and hit thier head again for the bashbrains.
how would stun help a burst organs? nobody really parries that and you have lots of time to heal it.
To me, shieldstun would be a powerless way to get around parry, not so much a means to keep them still.

Oh, I had thought you meant that you already had wounds up high enough for a brain bash. I used to have a little routine...use my precision hammers(41-192-234) in the beginning of fights, or whenever I use crushes. Then, once I get some decent wounding going, switch to my speed hammers (??-???-275 and ??-??-273) and get the limb afflictions rolling. Then, when head reaches critical, switch out a hammer for a shield and shield stun/smite down till death. Which is what I thought you meant.
Oh, and the burst organs bit...more so that the shield stun would delay the regeneration curing on the legs, maybe long enough for the burst organs timer to run out and they die. Highly unlikely, yes, but I don't know how else to actually get a kill with that worthless affliction.
And yes, shield stun gets around parry, but it cuts your damage and wounds output in half, meaning they heal faster than you can inflict. So basically, I don't like it much anymore. Useful in group situations at times, but otherwise I don't use it.
