Sernguard has history now. Ask them about it sometime. It involves Hartstone and the rest of the Serenwilde quite a bit.
Unknown2006-06-28 16:56:43
I think the Serenguard have one of the coolest histories now.. but unfortunately it really doesn't help unify the Wilde, but rather adds another layer of possibility for keeping the barriers up.

Yup, we do. Also, I personally believe that this thread already provided me with enough solutions (some of them quite similiar to what I thought about already), so for me it's enough talking and time to do instead. Started this IC month, let's see how it'll all turn out.

Agreed. I really like a lot of the things I decided to do smile.gif *plots away*

Dang it, killing you was supposed to be a community building activity! Why did you have to ruin that by not attacking? ranting.gif

------

And maybe the fae event had more of an impact than I thought. When I asked a prominent moondancer why noone really cares for the Fae and why we have so few Ladies and why the guild is falling apart, I was told:

(someone) tells you, "*sigh* Moon is the most important thing for me now. My love
for the fae diminished, when they called us slavers sad.gif."

Yes, how dare I not attack you.... laugh.gif

Your restraint is impeding the Serenwilde community building efforts. You should be ashamed of yourself.

sad.gif I'm sorry. It just feels like 2-3 years has passed since I joined. I suck at telling time with these game tongue.gif
Sylphas2006-06-28 18:29:09
What's sad is when I realize that I've been playing IRE games since about 10th grade, 6 years ago or so. It's crazy.
Ixion2006-06-28 18:35:13
Yay for double posts. Especially like 30 minute apart ones...

The post-GR1 advancement path in the Moondancers was not written down anywhere the whole time I was there, and I got a whole lot of shoulder-shrugging when I asked about it. (And an irritated answer from Tsuki, a propos).

I'm sorry I sounded irritated to you. sad.gif Not sure exactly when that was in the progression of things. Assuming it was after we fully scrapped the Witching Path, if nothing was written down. I can't think of a time when my response was anything other than a variation of "it's something we're working on revising/updating/implementing, and it should hopefully be done soon."

We had the Witching Path, which was intended to get folks to gr10. Lots of things to do, both tasks and calling for interaction. Maybe half a dozen people were starting it that I knew of. Then Shorlen, as then High Wisdom, got complaints that it was too confusing and difficult. He tried revising it, adding to it, creating an alternate ... what, Shorlen, about four or five times or so before basically giving up and letting it sit and resigning? Then with Laysus as High Wisdom we started working on a replacement system. Laysus, Narsrim and I had meetings discussing and planning ideas. Because of the structure and intentions, we each need to do bits and coordinate them. Then Narsrim resigned, and we're having to catch Derian up.

We should just put the Witching Path back. tongue.gif

Anyway, I'm awake now ... yay. Back to work!

Noone else in Moondancer leadership liked any of my ideas, so I got frustrated, gave up, and said screw it.

The Witching Path is a terrible idea. My trying to make it work was a worse idea, and one of the things that killed the Moondancers. I could tell you what you need to do, but Laysus said not to bother, you had it covered

Good! Now go plot! Scheme! Make something happen!
Sylphas2006-06-28 20:05:53
I'd say we need a path to at least gr3. That gives you the boards and logs, and you feel like a full member. I still feel like a random probate. (Getting boards at gr3 is STUPID. All that ever happens is you get a clan and only ever use that.)
Shamarah2006-06-28 20:05:58
You guys are trying WAAAY too hard. Make EXTREMELY SIMPLE tasks for advancement, like the Aquamancer ones. I always liked that about the guild - it was very easy to advance if you wanted to. Then you get people involved and feeling like they're doing well.
Sylphas2006-06-28 20:07:31
It shouldn't be a breeze to get gr10. It shouldn't be stupidly hard, either. Have things get gradually harder, and leave 10+ for people who just work harder and earn favours from that.

When I had an alt there, it was "write a book for Celest and get GR3" sad.gif

Skipped the last two pages.

It's possible for Serenwilde to care about themselves without being fanatical propogandist brainwashers.

We are tongue.gif We've done several community building activities already to get started, and we'll be doing many more.

Of course, nothing can be done to fix the hartstone advancement stuff until... halo.gif

In all the guilds I've been active in, GR10 is unheard of, for the most part. GR3 is a 'full member', GR5 is big-time, GR6-8 means you're ancient. Anything else is silly.
