Yeah! A little of Metro was shut down earlier in the week. Not to mention there's that dam break now in Virginia (Is it Virginia or was it in Maryland?) and the nearby citizens needing to evacuate to shelter. A new storm system is supposed to come through again tomorrow or something too.
Haven't lost power through any of it though.
I haven't lost power or internet either. I love Verizon FiOS - so much better than Comcast.
I just hope the weather gets a bit.. nicer.

I'm a bit wary of Verizon since I lived on Bolling for a bit and was getting worst service than someone who lived less than five minutes away from me off base. My Comcast has been up on me recently though.
I swear the government has secret bio-domes over their military facilities. My cellphone is always dying on Andrews. Not to mention when it rained on Bolling it turned into a freakin' swamp and there's some secret underground area on the base. Smoke should NOT come from the ground like that.
Uhm.. anyway.. I hope for some nicer weather too. It's been all too crazy this week.

I'm not far from Acrune. Here in Maryland, it's been raining. A lot. I think we've had like ten inches of rain in the last two days - something crazy like that. It's not supposed to stop til Thursday.
I'm flying out to Baltimore on Monday, so I hope it stops by then

Sunny as can be today, but the river is expected to crest tomorrow slightly below the point it was at when Hurrican Ivan hit us.

Same. 95 degrees. The place where I work smells like a swamp, because the backyard filled with water and mud. Complete with the dead fish smell coming from the seafood place down the road.

It's really weird to have it be a great summer day (although hot as hell), and still see the river rising several feet over the course of the day. It's disconcerting.

You jerks. You've cursed me now with poor weather.
Iridiel2006-06-29 13:01:37
Sun. More sun. Oh, wait, a bit more sun. Yeah, here you have, a bit more sunlight.
I have a migraine.
Guys, give me back my clouds. I need a storm now. Since I've moved to my new all-rooms-have-windows-to-the-street apartment I feel like a vampire on the desert. My eyes ache

Front page of the newspaper said like 200,000 people were evacuated because of flooding. I hope you're all okay.

I have to walk a mile to work (or have my car towed if I park in the city ), but other than that it's kind of fun watching the river come up.
