Im just woundering were are some good places to hunt once you have reached level 55
Torak2006-06-30 18:33:53
Krokani, Aslaran, Merians are the best. Also don't underestimate spectres if you can manage to be on good terms with Magnagora.
Rashidat2006-06-30 19:57:58
Also depends on race, class, willingness to spend gold. Torak gave some good suggestions, though
Forren2006-06-30 20:07:02
I was always fond of the water plane, but you can't hunt there as a Glom. Are you allowed on the earth plane now?
Nemis2006-06-30 20:22:23
Not really but Magnagora stakes claim to basicly 90% of the world and if we listened to everything they want we wouldnt even be able to hunt orcs
Unknown2006-06-30 20:36:13
You could try the Taurian Valley, too, if you haven't already. I found it to be a bit hard, but then again i suck as healing myself sometimes, at 45 so...dunno how good it would be for a 55 level character, but you could always try.
Sylphas2006-06-30 23:19:34
I've been tempted to try that, but they're all loyal to something, and I learned my lesson about that long ago. What happens if you get enemied?

if you kill their shamans, then yes you will be enemied
Sylphas2006-07-01 00:26:31
Hunters ok, though?
Unknown2006-07-01 01:25:59
if you kill taurians, ghost wolves but not the shamans, then yes you won't be enemied at all

Level 55 Hunting Grounds:(Not sure if you mayaccess all)

Krokani(PaaviK)
Aslaran(Shantamark)
Taurian Valley(Close to Serenwilde?)
Merians(Bondero Bay)
Water Plane(Celest Only I think)
Earth Plane(Magnagora Only I think)
Spectre's(Spectre Island, South of Acknor, North of Magnagora)
Orcs(The play with the Ur'dead people)
RockEaters(Mountains)
Moose's(Mountains)
If you are a Warrior Igasho:Gorgogs(Bondero Bay)
Unknown2006-07-01 02:19:05
Tiger sharks and sandojin were pretty good for me at that point I think. Don't hurty the poor sentient beings.
Unknown2006-07-01 04:10:51
If you are warrior with a moderate quantity of credits invested and don't mind running, Astral spanws and Gorgogs rock!
Unknown2006-07-01 04:45:30
True but watch out what you're hunting, you might get enemied in that particular area such as the Ur'deads in Shallach or the Monks in Tosha, if you really know what you're doing and expect it to happen, then by all means, hunt them down.
Unknown2006-07-01 10:50:45
Killing aslaran/krokani in Paavik or Shanthmark will get you in trouble. What you'd be looking for are the camps, north from Shanthmark and west from Paavik.
Killing ur'dead in Shallach will get you enemied, but not the orcs. In fact, the orcs can be sold to Krangar, he pays well.
Killing merians in Bondero might cause a few angry Celestians to appear and bump you off, even though you're not in an enemied zone. Hunt at your own risk. Gognigin pays for them though.

Is there a list somewhere with bashing areas specified by level? If not, would someone make one? Thanks.
Unknown2006-07-01 16:17:56
There is not an exact per-level list, because too much relies on your class/race combo and your skill. By skill I mean the knowledge on when to shield and when to run away, as well as the ability to drink health and hit at the same time. Some people kill spectre paladins at level 25, and I've seen some die to rockeaters at 50. But here's a rough list, per area:

Toronada Tidal Flats: easy stuff, some of them afflict though. Not much money unless you do the quests. Good for people fresh out of Newton, but stay away from the crabs until you're 25 or so.

Oleanvir: easy too. Run away if you see a shadow. It's a roc which wants to grap you and carry to the nest for the lil' ones to eat.

Highways/mountains: easy and good gold. Cows and sheep can be sold, either as corpses or as alive ones (but you don't get money that way), run away after being hit but are killed easily. Rockeaters are a bit harder but still easy (they knockdown). Don't kill pilgrims or scholars, but rather do their mini-quest for nice exp and gold. Moose are hardest.

upper Shallach: orc braves and archers are good for level 30 or so. Warriors are strong and elders afflict (knockdown, paralysis, stupidity), but at level 40 you should be fine.

elemental (water/earth): Grubs from earth are easy (about as strong as rockeaters), but afflict with entangling. Lindwyrms are strong but slow and you can fool them with the hit-shield trick. Don't fight leeches without insomnia, starsuckers can break your limbs and have a strong attack (they rarely use it though). Gargoyles are stronger than rockeaters (but not much) and stoneghasts are nasty and afflict. Level 40+ and you kill them all with no problem. Doable at lesser.

Desert: Sandojins are tough (level 50? something about that, they can be strong), the rest is killable at level 30 or even less. Some things afflict (blindness for snakes, stupidity for gila lizards).

Balach Swamp: turtles and alligators. Levels 25-40, maybe. I never hunted there.

Spectre Island: good hunting ground if your character doesn't mind helping Magnagora. Spectre boys and girls are killable since level 20, men and women at around 30 (with lots of sipping), paladins are tougher but levels 50 mow them down with ease. All spectres afflict with deafness and freezing.

Grey Moors: "basic" hunting ground. Krokani and aslarans - killable at around 35 (with difficulties), good gold if sold to Surtami or the krokani cook, respectively. Often bashed out, but no wonder.

Bondero Bay: merians are good if you're at level 40+ (50 for bravos, unless you're feeling brave). Gorgogs are tough nuts, don't fight them without armour and at least 60th level.

Lower Shallach: fighting here will get you enemied to Shallach (and Magnagorans will come & try to kill you), but the gold they drop is nice. Knights are a bit easier than gorgogs, troopers are a bit harder and knockdown.

Astral: regular creatures are as strong as gorgogs, spawned ones (they spawn when you link to a node) vary in strength - from gorgogs, to things that can kill a surged 90th level warrior if he's not careful.

Catacombs of Shallach: tough. Very high-level bashing ground.

Yeah, but no one listens to him.

Of course. It's not like he ever led a group of fellow conspirators to bring Crow back to mortal realms, found a commune of the Night, and bring about the general destruction of the Serenwilde, and was successful, or anything...

I'll bug Serens if they are killing merians. I don't do much else, but I bug them a little.

If you can handle them, gorgogs are wonderful for bashing. Also great gold, too. I can make 8,000 gold easily by clearing out gorgogs/hammerheads and selling what I get.
Sylphas2006-07-01 20:53:48
He used to be feared and respected. Now he's -way- down the hierarchy.
