I think it's a fitting punishment for a rapist, as a matter of fact, I've been petitioning for the death penalty for repeat offenders. But I know that if these things were freely distributed, I might not have functioning junk, girls are crazy and vindictive alot of times, and besides that I do think the thing would be insanely uncomfortable for the female.

How does the death penalty bring justice to anyone for an act as inhumane as rape? At a certain point, when presented with the inevitability of death the human mind accepts it and it becomes easier. Just throw them in a solitary cell with nothing but vitamin and protein enriched bread, water and a toilet for the rest of their lives. And yes, this condom is totally old news.
Arix2006-07-02 19:49:23
make them wear the condom all the time, while in prison
Ixion2006-07-02 19:56:35
They should make these available for prisons too.

/sarcasm
Arix2006-07-02 19:57:46
heh, I thought about saying that, but decided not to go there. Thanks, Ixion

That's why I get paid the big bucks. No prob Arix.

I sometimes think thet continued rape offenders should be castrated. Or maybe partially castrated, so that it's still there, but you can't use it unless you want to die screming in agony. So infuriating.

I'm actually kind of serious about this. If someone does something as sickening and inhuman as rape, then they deserve the above punishment. (notice that there was no E on the end of Inhuman.)

EDIT: AND YES I AM MALE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN SEXUALLY ABUSED. mad.gif

Except that castration does nothing to stop the desire to rape. Rape isn't about sex, its about control.

I've never seen the death penalty as a form of punishment. If you killed 30 people, or are a serial rapist, we don't want you around. Personally, I don't care if they're punished or not, so long as they don't do it again. Killing them gets rid of them, and doesn't keep them around sucking up resources we should be spending on other things.

But it stops rape doesn't it?

as long as there are perverts, maniacs, idiots, and anything related to what I'm saying, Rape will always be there. *sagenod*

Nope. Rapists will just use objects instead. If anything, it makes it worse, because then you've got added frustration driving the rapist, and I'm betting that the other things usable are going to be a whole lot more traumatic.

South africa's good at coming up with this sort of thing. Like the flame-throwing anti-hijacking device to fit under your car.

If someone is prepared to do something like that they will find a means to do so, whether this little bear trap wrap is available or not

Yeah, that's sound goddamn reasoning right there. Additionally, flamethrowers should be available to any and all people who want to use them, because the pyromaniacs'd just use matches anyway, right?

There may be other methods of women getting back at their boyfriends/husbands but I doubt those methods are as painful or as humiliating as trapping their cock in a miniature bear-trap - a miniature bear-trap, what's more, that they have to go to a hospital to get removed, at which point they will be arrested on suspicion of rape.

The people on death row actually take MORE money than the people in jail for life. Criminals on death row are constantly in court trying to reduce their sentence from death to jail for life and stuff, which ends up costing more than simply feeding someone and keeping them locked up.

I don't even think capital punishment should exist. How is that punishment, you just end their existence? No, make them suffer. Put them in solitary confinement. Just imagine being with yourself alone for 40+ years.

Right, 'cept that's illegal here.

So you're for the prohibition of any type of implement that could be used to cause harm then, I hope?

Rape Deterrant: Dentata, via the novel Snowcrash. A hypodermic needle filled with a quick-acting sedative.

As far as prosecution, personally I think chemical castration is a good thing, alongside forced tracking and social restraints.

Maybe tattooing the offending perpetratior with a big 'R' would be useful. He's rated R, under 18 not allowed.

It's not punishment because that is a strange way of looking at the purpose of the law.

You want it to be a deterrent? Death is a perfectly good deterrent to most people. You want them to stop being a problem to society altogether? Death works for that better than keeping them in prison.

Wanting them to suffer is a bit less important, I'd think, even if they "deserve" it.

I talked about this object as something like legalising chinese finger traps or water torture to thieves. While theft is obviously less severe than rape I think the comparison holds. I don't think you can say torture is the right reaction to anything. And let's face it, that's what this kind of object is. It's hardly a deterrent because you can get around it and adapt to its presence easily enough. Kind of like attaching mousetraps with slow poisons to door locks. (Comparisons likely to be crap because I haven't gotten any sleep due to confounded dog.)
