There's no honours line for enslaving furrikin, however. The "Slave master of Angkrag" line refers to the enslaving of an orc who does not wish to be a blacksmith via a fairly easy mini-game that must be completed ten times for a small gold reward each time. (Once you have the line, the gold reward increases.)

However I agree that obtaining conflicting quest lines just to increase the length of your honours is pretty sad and inexplicable in terms of the game.

Oh really? Well damn, yeah, you knew what I meant anyway tongue.gif. I've never attempted the Ankrag honours so I just assumed it had to do with enslaving Furrikin. Thanks for clearing that up!

Edit: Actually, no you don't. Nevermind!

The opening quest, the faethorn aetherbubble, and now this.

Looking back I take everything in aetherspace with a grain of salt, the rules are slightly different and most of them have a comical nature to them. The worlds are small, and so vastly different from the first world that it's almost an AU, not quite but almost.

As for competing honors lines, Zenji's got two sets of those, and has a story relating to each of them that ties into his backround nicely. having competing honors lines does not always mean you're a RP-less quest monger.

Not even going to respond to that hijack directly.

Your posting ego has been shattered, wait 10 days and try again Daganev.

hmm, not sure what you mean?

All I was saying, was that the story lines behind the Aetherspace in general, tend to be "OOOH WOW thats cool!" and then when the results are in, its "Huh? well thats kinda wierd.."

Minor necro, but I'm a bit pissed. Playing mold...

QUOTE
A desolate field.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. A
wide expanse of trampled grasses and deep gorges into the soil marks this area
as an age old battlefield. Destroyed trees and plants lie dead and broken caught
in the midst of war. Undead soldiers lie here still, their bodies split and cut
beyond regeneration as they twitch spastically, trapped forever between life and
death. The air is filled with sounds of tortured moaning while buzzing flies
grow fat from the plunder below. Lingering low in the air, the smells of a
festering swamp emanate from all around. A troop of 8 mold mugwump mills about
here. A troop of 5 undead loboshigaru mills about here.

You see exits leading north, northeast, and northwest.
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of mold mugwump unsheath small knives, flecked with dried blood and rush
unflinchingly into battle with a troop of undead loboshigaru. (Rawr, bonus!)
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of mold mugwump has killed 1 units! (...or not.)
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

The irritating thrum of buzzing insects echoes noisily around you.
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of undead loboshigaru snarl, exposing rows of sharp canine teeth and
hesitate briefly before charging into a troop of mold mugwump. (Rawr, penalty!)
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of undead loboshigaru has killed 7 units! (...what the censor.gif?)
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of mold mugwump curl their hands into small, tense fists and rush
unflinchingly into battle with a troop of undead loboshigaru.
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of mold mugwump's attack is completely repelled by a troop of undead
loboshigaru. No units were killed. (...well, censor.gif you, too.)
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of undead loboshigaru tense their legs into a low crouch and hesitate
briefly before charging into a troop of mold mugwump.
5242h, 2687m, 4304e, 10p elrxk-

A troop of undead loboshigaru utterly decimates a troop of mold mugwump,
mercilessly killing every last one of them. (censor.gif you, and goodnight.)

In summary, axe the bloody randomizer.

Some troops are better against other troops, which you would know if you greeted the commanders more tongue.gif

Maybe I've misinterpreted this, but doesn't hesitation show fear, and therefore inferiority, where attacking unflinchingly shows confidence and superiority? Or are we playing counterintuitive games, now?

I thought THAT was random...
Ixion2006-07-21 08:26:08
There is ALWAYS a way to win.

I'm not going to tell you how and why this is, but think a bit and it's pretty obvious. I'm not talking about certain races being able to beat other races either, because that doesn't always happen.

I kinda like the randomness in this specific instance. It makes you think rather than just smashing groups of troops against each other until you have a victor.

Edit: That's what you get for helping out mold! Hah!
Ashteru2006-07-21 08:36:54
Zomg, you plan quests SO FAR in advance? I still remember when someone mistold me some troopmovement......man, that was like 6 or 7 months ago...
Anyway, I think I'll get myself an Aethership...seems like Aetherships are the future. tongue.gif
