I would think that balance would/should apply to all elevation types.

I'd really like to see a big wolly mammoth jumping limb to limb..

Why not just scrap riding altogether and give refunds? unsure.gif

I don't agree riding is completely pointless! And, no, we're not going to scrap riding.

I do like some of Elryn's ideas, though I would keep different level mounts. I've actually always wanted to update riding but other priorities have continuously cropped up.

Unfortunately, we still have other priorities at the moment. You want to be the ones to convince the playerbase that riding needs to take priority over finishing aetherspace or doing more envoy updates or (gods forbid) redressing the family code?

I just hope that one day, Riding will be integrated with otherskillsets instead of being a hinderance to them.

Goody! She at least knows our concerns. That's enough for me at the moment.

I would add Barding(armour) and Silks. Forgers and Tailors would like that. Also, should there actually be carriages/charriots pulled by mounts? Not useful for fighting, but perhaps something for the Artisans. A tiny mobile tent sort of thing with a shop making artifact for it. Or something to race in the arenas?

Of course Estarra knows our concerns! Two things in Lusternia will be constant: Estarra will be awesome, and we'll bitch constantly.

You forgot that Daevos will be nigh unbeatable. And that you'll probably be the richest person in the game tongue.gif

That's fine, I wasn't suggesting this be done NOW, just that it be addressed in the near future.

Obviously NOTHING should come before aetherspace specs.

Ooh, yay.

I love the idea of upgrading riding.

And I love the idea of barding, silks and poisoned horseshoes/spurs/caltrops/whatever you decide on.

I'd love the idea of actual spurs, which you can attach to boots to make horses rear. It'd make shoes actually worth considering. As of now, 95% of Lusternia is barefoot. We don't actually have anything that hurts our feet, like blistering sands in the desert (there's an idea) or pebbles.

so, if forgers can make spurs, which can be attached to boots, and those spike things they can attach to hooves/paws/whatever, we can dig our spurs in, and make the mount rear and kick :>

Silks can up your influence, barding can up defense of the mount (obviously), and (less obviously) mean less chance of you getting knocked off the mount?

I don't like the idea of charging extra for pets to have the abilities, it doesn't seem fair somehow. Pet's already cost 600 credits just to be mountable, Perhaps pet's could get extra training "slots" (whatev) or something.
