I have a deep and abiding loathing for MySpace, and I'm not entirely sure why.

I second that notion.

MySpace yields nothing from my person save deepest, darkest contempt. I loathe MySpace with every fiber in my being, and if you asked me why, my only response could be, "It's MySpace, that's why."

Yea, I used to feel that way and then finally signed up to check out my friend's music and whatnot and it's actually pretty fun, albeit a bit lame.

And I'll cyber stalk yo' ass!

I finally gave in a signed up, then promptly never looked at it again, or even bothered to sign up to look at my friend's things, that being the entire reason I did so. And I STILL get friend requests. It makes me feel very violent.

I think part of it is that most every random MySpace I've seen is HORRID. People will throw a crappy background pic up, TILED when it's not meant to be, have blinking badly colored text, bad, very loud music... It's like the asshole of the internet. And I'm sick and tired of hearing about MySpace in the media. MySpace can't do a damned thing to stop people pretending to be 14, unless they start requiring your social security number or something asinine. ARGH.

Granted, some people have very nice MySpaces, but I'm still trying to get over my first impression. I should log in and make mine nice, to counter the rest.

Eh, myspace always seemed like a junkier version of facebook to me...

Having seen my friend use facebook, facebook seems like a junkier version of myspace, that's target audience is much smaller than myspace.

All my friends are in Facebook. I can't join. Facebook needs to die.

I love Facebook. Facebook is just for college students, and high school students now.

I'd join that myspace group but, you know, closet MUDder and all.

Facebook is awesome. I don't use Myspace anymore.

I personally think Facebook is only slightly less evil because it can be used for localized advertising of school events. I'm biased on that though since I'm involved with campus activities and a fraternity. Generally I look at them as "LOOK AT ME!!!!1 I EXIST" pages since few people use them as intended. And even the ones that do are considered weird since meeting people through e-networking sites is taboo. Its weird how things devolve. Perhaps I'd be less cynical and critical of it if it were used as intended.

If you were to look at my facebook (I don't have mySpace) I have very few details on it and in fact keep it private, since I only use it as a portal for advertisement and recruitment.

I don't like MySpace... Not sure why, though. :/ I already keep a blog somewhere else, so I can't be bothered to set yet another site up.

I used to hate myspace, but after I started getting tons and tons of messages from people that go to my college.. I was like "holy eff.. this is awesome." All I did was make a thread on their school page and all these people started messaging me telling me basicly everything you would ever want to know about my school. I feel so freaking loved.

and I think my myspace is nice, Sylphas. So neener neener.
