So... that was with TEN people in the room.
Now, my question is: are the demon lords/supernals meant to be totally impossible to kill? That's pretty much what they are now, with room attacks that do most of my max health through numen and instantly kill me without it. And I thought they were weakened if there's more people in the room, but we had ten people and he certainly didn't seem any weaker than normal to me.
Because as-is, it's pretty ridiculous.
And yes, before anyone asks, we did weaken Gorgulu with corpses first.

Marcalo2006-07-04 13:22:33
well maybe its a sign that the admins are sick of people trying to kill off supernals and demon lords and people coming to the forums whining and crying about how under powered they are? Maybe the buffed them up so much that its not even worth trying anymore.
Shamarah2006-07-04 13:26:09
That's how it would appear.
Ekard2006-07-04 13:30:59
To kill Demon Lord you need 10 really buffed people now. Titans would be nice. Demigods not allowed!! ( unless they want to lose demi. heh)

I know they were buffed. Doesn't stop me from finding it hilarious.
But the magic mouths I saw in the other log were a very nice touch, heh, good show.

Mag did the same to us

The sole difference being that we did it when defenders were around, to make the raid more engaging and difficult.
Funny stuff, regardless. I personally disagree that the Demon Lords/supernals should be buffed: they're goddamn half-formed, they're supposed to be a trial to slay, especially considering the fact that when one is defeated, the org it belongs to loses 1000 power, is susceptible to repeated attacks upon its spikes/supplicants, and loses an entire set of pacts/pledges until the Lord/supernal is revived. Just use some basic strategy; reflecters that are unenemied to the plane, perhaps?
EDIT: Oh, yeah, and the layout of Nil needs some serious revamping. The position of the Megalith means that defenders are at a massive disadvantage, when you compare it to the placement of the Pool on Celestia.

I've been on Celestia when Raziela was being attacked, and I died along with the Magnagorans when she did her room-based attack..
Murphy2006-07-04 14:12:08
we've tried a demonlord with a much better effort than that piss ant group of softons and we got creamed, although i did have a good laugh at that attempt, great times

Reflections are bypassed by all Supernal/Demon Lord attacks. The Supranatural beings also strip serpent/trueheal. Also, the room attack hits everyone in the room, not just enemies of Nil.
Magnagora is definitely at an advantage, but I see a change in the layout being very difficult to manage. Even if Estarra agreed with you, she wouldn't just rearrange Nil. There would have to be some big event for the shuffling around of the plane.
Murphy2006-07-04 14:23:52
erm how are the defenders at an advantage on nil, celestia is better to defend because you can sit around the pool and really whore moving into guards like you normally do so lamely every time we come up

He typo'd I think and meant disadvantage based on the context of the rest of his post.
Unknown2006-07-04 14:33:13
Do Demon Lords move when attacked? If not, then by analyzing the log and adding my noobtastic knowledge I come to this conclusion - Gorgulu can be solo'ed. SOLO'ED. Only it takes a crapload of time, so a helper with Great Pent to stop defenders would be handy. Also, some disposable people to remove the demons he summons.
But if he moves... well, meh.

Veonira2006-07-04 15:01:08
I was under the impression before this that all of the demon lords and supernals were majorly buffed up to the point when it's near impossible to kill them due to the multiple supernals and demon lords being killed at one point.
Personally, I think it should take more than 10 people. I think if you have 15-20 people, it should be more possible to kill them, but 10 really isn't that much when you think about it.
And I definitely agree the location of the Megalith on Nil is utter crap. Raiders don't have to come anywhere close to a room adjacent to the Megalith if they don't feel like it. Oh wait, that's right, we have stonewall, that skill that can be taken down, I guess that gives us a huge advantage over aquamancer demesne with terrain that splits up groups.

How would 20 people help? Room attacks that do 4k damage are going to wipe most people short of Titan in a single hit. Then you're down to like, 3 people after the first round.
I just don't think IRE mob combat is advanced enough to allow a proper epic battle like these should be. There's either a way to trivially kill them, or it's nearly, if not actually, impossible.

Soll2006-07-04 15:19:27
Supernals/Demon Lords supposedly do less damage to each person if there are more people attacking them.
Sylphas2006-07-04 15:20:57
Ah. Looks either broken, or they do like 10k damage if it's just one person.
