I'm fairly sure it was. Looking through both of them, Methrenton actually wasnt doing very much damage asside from his wicked room attacks. Maybe its because we had so many people that actually attacked him.

You do realize that if the next time I logged on I found that I had somehow become Titan during my absence, there would be a considerable number of shocked and horrified people in the Serenwilde, aye? Or even if I "only" logged on as level 90, about the same experience boost as Narsrim received, you *know* there would be a lot of suspicion.

Disregarding it as wishful thinking doesn't really make it so. tongue.gif

Dear haters, people who have issued, and emailed support over my free levels:

Technically speaking, I gained 1.5-1.75 levels. I'm slightly amused at how this has again blow up to the point where I just never bashed myself up to level 88.5 or anything... and just poof, I was level 90 or whatever!

======

On topic, Demon Lords, Supernals, and Avatars are impossible to balance *gasp*

One flaw to IRE games is it is just impossible to balance something to be viable for a "large" group of "high level, but not insanely high" people BUT impossible for a "small" group of "insanely high" people. More or less as I recall Estarra telling me, there was never the intent for 3 people (read: Aesyra, Ekard, Narsrim) to easily slay such a beast.

It might be possible with creative coding. I suggested that the creatures do retarded damage until X number of people were in the room at which point they did considerably less, and I do believe Hajamin mentioned it was considered and tested (not sure if it was actually added) when he was here. However in the end, I'm going to guess they are just retarded strong in general if the 10+ people were instantly wiped out.

And if you think Gorgulu is bad, test out Ashtorath with Nifilhema. We are talking combination attacks that are like stun + 4000/5000-ish damage + 600 bleeding.

And Marcalo lost experience from the bug... coincidence? chin.gif

What is this bug everyone keeps referring to in this thread regarding experience and levels? I was never around for it.

One day, Narsrim logged on and discovered he was 1.75 levels higher or so. He immediately bugged this and was contacted by the administration, who let him know they were on it. The same (although I think it was a little less) happened to Ekard. Marcalo reported losing experience.

I was told (before and after) Hajamin was fired it was an honest bug by various admins. Lisaera point blank said in one thread that people should hush about it because if Hajamin had just given/taken experience, it would be pretty damn easy to track and there was no such evidence to indicate such.

However... some people just couldn't handle this. I was harassed, issued, and all sorts of nasty things over it. People also issued themselves, cried in outrage as they emailed support, etc, etc. In the end, I was allowed to keep the experience. It wasn't my choice, I honestly am quite powerless to a coder setting/changing my experience total. However given I was allowed to keep, I just considered myself lucky and went on with life.

Someone people, however, have never moved past that moment. Rumors brew, conspiracy theories emerge, and suddenly I was just like level 20 and Hajamin made me level 90.

Heh, well you were at least 85 when I left, I was surprised you weren't Titan when I got back.
Ixion2006-07-08 15:25:10
Digression. Stop thinking people blame you, Narsrim, for the free levels. Those with any knowledge on the subject know what happened, and it's not your fault they chose to let the unfairness of the free levels at a higher circle persist.

Back on track, we nearly killed Raziela not all that long ago, and by nearly I mean that we had it below 1/3 health. They are not unkillable, but it is amazingly hard. To kill them requires amazing timing, planning, a good group, teamwork, a bit of luck, and a lot of mental awareness.

Perhaps now that they are so damn hard to kill, they should incur more penalties to their corrosponding org upon death? 1000 power can be made up for in a day (or less), they aren't that hard to raise when only one will ever die at a time, and supplicants are so high that Celest is, effectively, invincible against converted Supernal attacks forever. Spikes will reach that point eventually as well.

Also, because Elohora/Luciphage are so strong and all the others except Gorgulu and Raziela receive support, there is really only one killable Demon Lord and one killable Supernal, at least until we have 15-20 active titans in one org.

Raziela is the oddest of all the Supernals, Demon Lords, Avatars, etc. She deals crappy damage (relative to the others), but has nasty afflictions, drop weapons, movement, etc. Gorgulu (as that was the Demon Lord attempted by Shamarah's group) was designed to have less effective other junk, but deals more damage and has far more health...

As a result when they were beefed, Raziela's damage did increase, but not all that much relative to Gorgulu because she had always dealt less and has less health. Thus, her buff is less substantial than Gorgulu's because no modication was ever made to the afflictions and special attacks.

Isn't that as it should be?
Ixion2006-07-09 18:54:53
Such should be so. However, I still think they are a bit too hard to slay, as is.

Yeah, but not with only 3 people... or heck not even 10 unless its 10 titans/near-titans. It'd be rather annoying not to mention unrealistic and silly to have demon lordss/supernals dying every few hours just because people want to be able to kill them.

Ooh! maybe introduce massive quests to weaken them somehow so that it's doable by only a few, y'know, the equivalent of giving the supernal/demon lord a massive migraine.
Unknown2006-07-11 06:53:30
You'd think they would have divine fire. I mean, they're certainly more akin to 'True' Gods than demigods are, being half formed and all. *ponder*

They already have quests to weaken Raziela and Gorgulu so you may attack them.

The quests simply allow Gorgulu or Raziela to be vulnerable to damage and in theory "killable"... which I guess does "weaken" them in a sense, but they do not actually decrease any damage output.
