This is supposed to be a Totems specialization for the Skarch Commune with Mother Cactus. Ever since Estarra mentioned it as a joke I couldn't help but run with it. This is also assuming that Father Sun is the other nature spirit of the Commune along with Sister Snake.

CODE

You have gained the following abilities in Snake:
Scales              The scales of a snake protect your body from harm.
Sunrays             A ceremony to bask in sunlight.
Bonding             Bond with the commune's totem poles.
Heatsense           Sense your prey's body temperature.
Hypnotize           Transfix foes with your gaze.
Patterns            A ceremony to change your appearance.
Hovel               Construct a burrow beneath your bonded totem.
Fangs               Grow vicious fangs to sink into flesh.
Coil                Lie in wait for your quarry.
Constrict           Surround your victim in tight coils.
Forkedtongue        A ceremony to increase your guile.
HovelReturn         Retreat to your underground refuge.
Spit                Spit venom into their eyes.
Rattle              A ceremony to warn you when enemies approach.
Revenge             Turn death to your advantage.
Flare               Flare your hood, causing terror.
Lure                Drag your hapless prey to your burrow.
Snakeform           Hatch into a serpentine form.

AB SCALES
Syntax: SNAKE SCALES
Grow scales over your body, protecting you from blunt and cutting damage.

AB SUNRAYS
Syntax: PAINT FACE SUNRAYS
Tints Required: yellowtint 2
This ceremony will paint the rays of the sun upon your cheeks, which will allow
you to slowly cure yourself of afflictions while in sunlight.

AB BONDING
Syntax: TOTEM BOND
        TOTEM RELEASE
Power: 8 (Mother Cactus)
You may bond with a totem pole for a year and a day. You may also release the
bond to your totem before that time.

AB HEATSENSE
Syntax: SNAKE HEATSENSE
Allows you to detect prey by their body temperature, rendering hiding skills
useless. This ability also allows you to detect when one of your enemies walks
above where you are burrowed or when they walk underneath you.

AB HYPNOTIZE
Syntax: SNAKE HYPNOTIZE
Power: 1 (Mother Cactus), 0 if in Snakeform
Causes your foe to become distracted by your presence, allowing them to only
focus on you.
NOTE: This will cause their attacks to randomly hit you instead of trying to hit someone else. Only works on one person at a time, so if you hypnotize another person the first won't be hypnotized anymore.

AB PATTERNS
Syntax: PAINT FACE PATTERNS
Tints Required: redtint 1, greentint 1
This ceremony will paint complex patterns on around your eyes that increase your
sense of self. These patterns will increase the speed and effectiveness of your
influencing and allow you to Divert at less of a cost to your ego.

AB HOVEL
Syntax: HOVEL DIG
        HOVEL ENTER
        HOVEL EXIT
Power: 10 (Mother Cactus)
Allows you to dig your secret hovel under your bonded totem for your protection.
As long as you are in the room with your totem you may enter your hidden refuge
and be protected from all skills to detect you.

AB FANGS
Syntax: SNAKE FANGS
        SNAKE SIPHON /
        SNAKE VENOM
        SNAKE BITE
Damage Type: 50% Cutting, 50% Poison
Damage Source: Physical
These fangs will allow you to sink your teeth into the flesh of your enemy causing
damage as well as releasing any toxins you have stored into their bloodstream. You
may SNAKE SIPHON a dead animal or vial to draw out the poison into your venom sacs.
Using SNAKE VENOM will show what kind of poison you have stored in your sacs.

AB COIL
Syntax: SNAKE COIL
This ability will allow you to coil yourself tightly and lie in wait for your
enemies. When they enter the room you are coiled in you will immediately spring
forth and sink your fangs into them, causing them to be stunned by surprise.
NOTE: Essentially you can use this in the trees, underground, or just on the ground.

AB CONSTRICT
Syntax: SNAKE CONSTRICT
Power: 4 (Mother Cactus), 2 if in Snakeform
Damage Type: 50% Blunt, 50% Asphyxiation
Damage Source: Physical
While your foe is hypnotized you may surround them in your vicious coils slowly
draining their life and crushing their bones. While constricting you can only
use skills granted by Sister Snake such as Fangs.
NOTE: They must writhe free from the constriction that will constantly tick doing damage and crushing a limb.

AB FORKEDTONGUE
Syntax: PAINT FACE FORKEDTNGUE
Tints Required: bluetint 2
This ceremony will pain a forkedtongue on your chin that increases all the guile
you posses. This allows you to writhe faster than normal and even tumble or roll
quicker out of the room.

AB HOVELRETURN
Syntax: HOVEL RETURN
Power: 2 (Mother Cactus)
From anywhere on the same plane as your burrow, you can return to the safety of
your hovel.

AB SPIT
Syntax: SNAKE SPIT
Damage Type: 100% Poison
Damage Source: Magical
This ability allows you to spit poison into the eyes of your enemy causing them to
take damage and suffer the effects of the poison stored in your venom sac.

AB RATTLE
Syntax: PAINT FACE RATTLE
Tints Required: purpletint 2
This ceremony will paint a rattle between your eyes up to your forehead. This will
allow you to sense when enemies enter the local area.

AB REVENGE
Syntax: SNAKE STORE
Power: 10 (Mother Cactus)
Damage Type: 50% Poison, 25% Cutting, 25% Blunt
Damage Source: Magical
While in your hovel you may rest for a period of time and grow eggs inside of your
body. Eventually these will hatch into small snakes, and lie in wait in your gut.
Whenever you are killed these snakes will burst forth from your corpse in a flurry
and attack your enemy in rage.
NOTE: The snakes that burst out of your corpse immediately attack and then it will spawn a few snakes in the room that afflict with charybdon and do damage. They may be killed but won't give experience. Enemies killed by the immediate bursting attack or the leftover snakes will count as if you killed them.

AB FLARE
Syntax: SNAKE FLAREHOOD
Power: 2 (Mother Cactus)
This will flare out your startling hood causing all your enemies in the room to
become shaken with fright. While shaking they will randomly lose balance and fail
to attack you. Alternatively you can choose to frighten one target. This ability
may be used while constricting.
NOTE: This affliction lasts for a certain amount of time and can't be cured.

AB LURE
Syntax: SNAKE LURE
Power: 5 (Mother Cactus)
While you have hypnotized and then constricted your opponent you may attempt to
drag your prey back into your hovel. This will take a period of time and may only
be performed in an area where you can burrow. If you are successful your hapless
prey and yourself will return to your hovel where you may slay them without
distraction.
NOTE: They may escape the hovel by doing HOVEL EXIT (however they will end up in enemy territory as well as most likely getting hit by your totem) or they can use any other form of magical transportation. Monolith sigils placed in the hovel will immediately sink into the sands and are destroyed.

AB SNAKEFORM
Syntax: SNAKEFORM
Power: 10 (Mother Cactus)
Grants Skill: DEVOUR
~ Power: 5 (Mother Cactus)
The benevolent form of Sister Snake will give you increased poison resistance, both
in damage and the ability to shrug off poisons. Also, you will gain level one ego
regeneration and one point of Charisma. The form of the snake will also increase
your damage from Constricting, Biting, and Spitting. Also if your prey has been constricted you may attempt to DEVOUR them, drawing them into your mouth until they are
swallowed whole as long as their limbs are all broken. If they die from this you
will drain all their remaining Power into your body.
NOTE: Basically what this means is that if they die with power you will drain all of that into your current power or your reserves. So say you devour them and they have 5 power ready and you have 3 power, you will add that 5 power to whatever your current power so you will have 8 power. If you had 6 power you would immediately gain 4 power and one point of power to your reserves.

I know I have way too much time, mainly because I had surgery so now I have nothing to do but waste time on the computer because I can't drive while on pain meds.

EDIT: My favorite part is the cactus totems. It amuses me so much...

Yeah I think Patterns is a bit too scary I'll try and think of something.
EDIT: Well I'm sure it could be balanced by just how "effective" it is. Maybe have your influence do slightly more damage with maybe a .5 second increase and Diverting cost 40%.

Y'know, the great thing about designing skill specialisations fro Lusternia is that everything fits more or less in a mold. They could release two extra cities with other elements that nobody knew about, and we could STILL make skills for them. It makes everything so simple cloud9.gif

blush.gif Thanks! This is probably my second favorite from all the ones I've done with Aeromancy being the first. There's other ones but I haven't felt like posting them on the forums, Archery ended up being my least favorite though.
