Hey everyone, I'm new here. I used to play Achaea and so when I heard about Lusternia I figured I'd give it a try. Is there a neutral city here? Back in Achaea my character lived in Cyrene which didn't take sides between good and evil... but from what I've seen, you pretty much have to choose a side here?

Thanks.

There are no neutral cities yet unfortunately.
Diamondais2006-07-12 19:02:10
Probably wont be until they release Ackleberry, unless for some reason they decide on a fourth Commune. sleep.gif

edit: You cant exactly call one place clear cut good or evil either..
Hazar2006-07-12 19:03:47
Skarch v. Ackleberry! Lake v. Sun! Snake v. Bear! ARE YOU RREADY TO RRRUUUMMMMBBBLE?!?

Anyway...nope, no neutral org stagnation here. Everything's strictly in conflict.
Kaileigh2006-07-12 19:12:20
I don't see any new cities being neutral the shifting players would make it impossible. Even if they should be the government would be biased.
Everiine2006-07-12 19:28:40
While all the cities/communes are in conflicts, that doesn't mean -you- have to be in conflict. If you don't piss anyone off, you'll not have people breathing down your neck, calling for your death.

People really DO that?! blink.gif

I've yet to meet anyone who's managed to stay out of the conflict completely.

What about me? sad.gif

And Magnagora's totally a neutral city. Join it. Now.

Aethercity of Deepnight? laugh.gif

It could be considered neutral, aye? Nobody mentioned it yet, heheh.

Cyrene wasn't exactly neutral, either. Unless it completely watered down into vanilla-grey nothingness with the introduction of the House system, it was basically Shallam Lite.
Viravain2006-07-12 20:02:56
What everyone fails to realize is that all of Lusternia's organizations are evil.

Except Glomdoring, of course. We had no part in the tainting, mutilation, desecration, enslavement, or deceit of anything. Honest! halo.gif

Arent your influence moves about manipulation and all that jazz? huh.gif
Hazar2006-07-12 20:23:17
Yes, but that's not tainting, mutilation, desecration, enslavement, or deceit. And it's a hell of a lot better then the outright brainwashing the other cities and commune engage in.
Diamondais2006-07-12 20:29:06
Using their fears is a form of deciet..

edit: Also, Glom used to enslave unwilling Fae, and they would kill them as well.
Xavius2006-07-12 20:40:00
Er, that was meant as pure sarcasm, for anyone who missed the fact that Glomdoring's history is basically tainting, mutilation, desecration, enslavement, and deceit.

Lusternia is a game based around conflict first and foremost, so no, there are no "neutral" official organizations here. Some players have, however, tried to create neutral groups and gatherings, like the Aethercity of Deepnight that was mentioned.

So, you CAN play a neutral character if you want, but it would be really boring in Lusternia, I'd think. Also, as was said, you don't HAVE to participate in the conflict if you don't want to dry.gif
Hazar2006-07-12 20:43:30
Yes, their history. But look not to the past, but the GLORIOUS FUTURE!
Veonira2006-07-12 20:50:37
I'd say that Magnagora is the most neutral, in terms of our own ideals. In Glomdoring and Serenwilde's case, it's more they don't like us than we don't like them. We are polar opposite of Celest, but we aren't banned from trading with them, being family with them, etc.

The only downside to being part of an organization that is actually more accepting than a lot of the other's is well, no one else will accept you. One way street tongue.gif.
Unknown2006-07-12 21:01:40
No neutral cities here, and Magnagora definately is not neutral either (hello? enslaving spirits, evil rituals? does that sound neutral for you?).

BUT
There aren't any "sides" here. Every city and commune has potential for good and evil. Even though Serenwilde and Celest tend to be perceived as "good", while Magnagora and Glomdoring as "evil" (and they have such tendencies, true), there is a place for evil and good individuals to exist inside them. As long as this isn't "look at me, I eat babies and burn dogs, hahaha!" type evil and "why can't we all just get along and snuggle to our enemies?" brand good.
But this is not what I wanted to say. My point is: no sides in Lusternia. Every place for themselves. "Good" places fight with each other sometimes, same for "evil" places. Not as often as Magnagora vs Celest for example, but this isn't certainly like Achaea where (last time I have checked) in conflicts there was ALWAYS an Ashtan&Mhaldor vs Shallam&Cyrene&sometimes forestals situation.
