Back to Common Grounds.

...like Achaea where (last time I have checked) in conflicts there was ALWAYS an Ashtan&Mhaldor vs Shallam&Cyrene&sometimes forestals situation.

Yeah that got really annoying.
Unknown2006-07-12 21:09:40
Don't worry about things being annoying here then. In Lusternia, every organisation is at least distrustful of the others. Glomdoring had a severe ban on Magnagora (and every other organisation) recently, and Serenwilde and New Celest almost had a full-scale war. In the meantime, loud, obnoxious, snuggly pacifistic types who have trouble distinguishing between RPing and RL "peace and freedom of speech" ideals (so I'm not talking about Ialie or Verithrax, for example) are getting flogged in every org.
Shorlen2006-07-12 21:10:24
Well, things were usually Seren+Celest vs Mag+Glom, but the "allies" always hated each other. Mag and Glom have since gone their seperate ways, and war nearly started between Seren and Celest. It really is every man for himself, though Seren and Celest will team up to beat down Mag or Glom occasionally, and Mag and Glom will team up to beat down Seren or Celest occasionally (I think?).

No neutral cities here, and Magnagora definately is not neutral either (hello? enslaving spirits, evil rituals? does that sound neutral for you?).

Never said it was actually neutral, I said it was the closest.

I came from Achaea and was actually a citizen of Cyrene, and I would hunt/landmark with Mhaldor frequently and Cyrene had no problem with it. Well, some of the priests did, but they couldn't do anything about it. I just think that in comparison, Cyrene would probably be closer in political atmosphere, barring evil vs good, than the other orgs. Cyrene didn't really BAN things, such as trading with certain groups, or stop you from hunting in certain areas because they were sentients or whatever, similar to Mag.

But Mag IS more evil, but not all of us have demonds follow us around >.>. Some of us just really like tainty earth!

I'd say Magnagora's more like Ashtan, actually, but Ashtan as it should've been and not as it became. Not evil, but amoral: basically doing whatever they want to do and damn the consequences. In that sense they're the most "neutral" organization in that they don't really care who you trade with or marry or kill as long as it doesn't harm the interests of Magnagora itself.

The other organizations are much more restrictive; you can't even enter Glomdoring if you're not a member, for example, without being pumelled by the Totemic defenses.

Viravain's right. Magnagora and Glomdoring are obviously evil, Celest is a corrupt theocracy, and Serenwilde... who the **** cares about Serenwilde?
Xavius2006-07-12 21:57:37
In terms of current (not past) alignment, Serenwilde is an odd mix of the Celestine Empire and old Glomdoring. They're the ones most willing to ignore the desires of those who could/should be close to them in favor of an unbridled expansionist philosophy.

Nonono, see, people come knocking at the US's door, demand handouts, squander them away, then publically lambast our immoral, greedy culture, completely ignoring the fact that we just bailed them out of their latest crisis at their request.

Don't get me started!

I've yet to meet anyone who's managed to stay out of the conflict completely.

Are not. Majority of leadership in SW is not american >.>

We have an aussie, a brit, a singaporean living in england, and an american on the council. Or something. So it's england biggrin.gif

Diamondais2006-07-13 00:01:02
Yeah, we cant be Americans. America helps someone and then gets attacked. Were the opposite!

So Glomdoring are the Americans!

Glomdoring is so the Australia of the Basin. Throw your trash somewhere, and they grow a culture that could kick your butt sad.gif

I meant Glomdoring began with the people who were kicked out of the other communes/cities, like Erion and Visaeris and Guido, and then after a bit of time being left to grow, they became awesome. Like Australia.

So, you CAN play a neutral character if you want, but it would be really boring in Lusternia, I'd think. Also, as was said, you don't HAVE to participate in the conflict if you don't want to dry.gif

Pshhhh. I was neutral for years, and loved it. Same for Richter and a handful of other people. It's jut not for everyone.
Diamondais2006-07-13 04:10:57
Glomdoring would certainly be the place I went if the off chance Exarius won this election, since I doubt it he will Im stopping the thought.

Yes, Im mean and spiteful right now. Im sorry, Im just really irritable.
