Wasnt trying to refute what you said, more of say go find the good people. There are some people in Serenwilde I could never stand and still cant, I just use other peoples actions to get a good hit in with a snowball... happy.gif

Keep in mind all of us are biased towards our choice of city/commune. It really is your own choice. smile.gif

What are you talking about!? Celest has a pretty good RP, just not as good as most others. It's kinda like with all of the frickin raids Murphy, Daevos, Ixion, etc... give us, we're all turning into fighters. In fact, my character only wanted to be a scholar, now he's a scholar and a fighter.

Sometimes I wonder if the people who make these threads ever actually read any of the replies. mellow.gif

biggrin.gif Heheh, sorry all! I had some major issues with my internet router and was unable to be around until recently. I love that you all have replied and I can't thank you enough for the encouragement and advice. I'll have to restart my little scholar but that's ok because I wasn't very far.

Thanks again for all the help and I hope to hear more if anyone has any other advice!

And players will be much more inclined to help you learn stuff if you are part of their org. People aren't generally that helpful to rogues.

Translated from Shamarah speak..
"Hey, the rogue looked in our general direction! GEDDIM."

And then you're enemied.

Rogues suck. Join an org

Says the son of a famous rogue. happy.gif

Anyway, if you feel like being a rogue, speak with me. May or may not learn something new, or have some fun.

I'm not a rogue in-game, but my character used to be very borderline in relation to loyalty to an organization. If you join the Geomancers (Which, having been to both mage guilds, I have to say I like more from an RP standpoint) or even if you don't, feel free to talk to me.

A delayed welcome to Lusternia!

Personally, I'd try starting in an organization that catches your eye even without knowing much about the history. If you find out you don't like it, you can always change or create a new character from scratch.

Note that while each of the organizations are quite definitely wary and deriding of characters from the opposing three, I very much doubt any guild will hold novices to the same standard as established characters should you choose to switch at an early stage.

Without the basic skills you receive on choosing a path, you really won't be able to appreciate a good proportion of Lusternia's world. Additionally, without joining an existing community of players you might find the experience quite lonely and lacking in support. I'm sure we'll help if we can, but many nations view outsiders poorly, whether they are formal enemies or otherwise.

If your interest is in a scholarly type character, I'd choose the following guilds depending on which 'alignment' of nation you decide on:

Celest - Aquamancers
Magnagora - Nihilists
Serenwilde - Hartstone
Glomdoring - Shadowdancers (maybe Blacktalon also, I'm not familiar with how scholarly vs ritualistic the Glom Druids are)

However, really you can play a scholar in any guild, the most important thing is just to choose one that interests and engages your imagination.

Blacktalon is big on both, since there is a nest for ritualists and one for scholars.

Actually, Blacktalon is pretty equal on all sides...you have 4 choices for nests to choose from and basically you can be whatever you want..

Thank you everyone! Yes, a very late thank you, I'm sorry. I'm still having horrid computer problems and such.

I will be trying to create a new character again. Perhaps I will join an org, we'll see. But thank you all for your advice and if anyone finds this thread and remains interested in it, I will always be happy to hear more opinions!

I'd say the Blacktalon are, on a whole, more scholarly than the Shadowdancers... though, really, it depends what you're interested in studying.
