Should Celest just go away?

Why can't it be possible? Lets say the city of New Celest was destroyed, and then some sort of migration occured. The citizens retained their skills, but now just live in a new place and with a new ethos. I agree partially with Rauros, the whole kill taint thing is getting pretty old. Maybe not Celest, maybe some other organization, maybe even Magnagora. Would it be so bad?

We as players have tried to do our part in our roles. But when your a citizen of Magnagora or Celest, one of your main objectives is always going to be destroying the other side. What is the point of all our struggles if it is for nothing? It has been fun making war with each other back and forth, but will it ever change? Why can't it change?

In the end the MAJORITY of Celest do not want it to go away, or change.

Just the vocal minority here on the forums.

If so many Magnagorans wish for the taint/light thing to stop. Offer us a peace treaty.

Er, I think you completly fail to get the point Sheia.
Unknown2006-07-18 15:40:58
Really? Perhaps I am stupid, explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old.
Unknown2006-07-18 15:54:23
Celest stays, no matter what people think. You got a problem with that? Deal with it. You can't make everyone happy you know.

Look, sorry if I was a little prickish. I'm not going to start a flamewar -___-

@Daganev: Why would you, a moderator, try to whine about a serious discussion? Very irresponsible of you. You can't hide behide your player. You're a mod on this forum. Act like one.

@Everyone else: Thank you for your responses and keeping this civil. I appreciate it. I'm going to try a new angle to Rauros. This thread has given me some ideas. Once again, thank you.
Daganev2006-07-18 18:45:40
I'm sorry, I just have a hard time believing that after Estarra and other admin have said 2 or 3 times that they will not destroy orgs, or completely remove skillsets, that a suggestion of "burn it all" would be taken seriously.

I couldn't tell if people were being serious or joking around.

Hrm, maybe this is a moot point now... but hasn't Magnagora done that a few times? And each time, Celest broke it shortly after? *shrug*

You fail to understand that the other side is always the one to break the peace treaties.
Dysolis2006-07-18 23:00:56
actually through out of closed beta my entire goal in celest was to move the nexi out of the city and put it in the inner sea, which evidently failed. but hey couldn't of hurt to try.

edit: beta not closed beta, btw

We would have to accept it first, which we never would. kiss.gif

The contention is that Celest's RP has left characters like Rauros' and Morik's characters behind, and they don't like it. Some other people too, but those people aren't present so I won't bother them.

I don't recall saying I didn't like it. Hey, I'm on a path that I like, Celest is on a path it likes, I think its all good.

Don't interpret my IC post as being my OOC feelings. My OOC feelings are that Celest has taken its bloody sweet time in figuring out what it is and where it wants to go; that its lacked strong leadership that people could look up to. I'll be happy if/when it does. smile.gif

I want Celest destroyed because that actually means Magnagora wins... Hey we've won so many times over, Die already! Then we'd have some real plot development.

Just think it would be interesting to see a scenario where an org really won because of its efforts. Of course the crying would be unbearable for admin after but hey its unbearable now.
Rauros2006-07-19 03:20:45
Alger knows what I'm talking about. Until the whole "taint v light" thing ends, there will be no plot development, because it's always about "taint this" or "light that". Like I said in my first post, I would be happy if that became backstory while we all moved on with life.
Unknown2006-07-19 03:48:57
Plot development?

What is this plot development you speak of, crazy peoples?

The Soulless, mah friend. They're a much more major plot point... when they're around. Which is never.

I'll give you a serious answer.

I'm sick and tired of people bagging on Celest. Yes, we have our problems, but so does everyone. You all pick on us just to take snipes at people to bolster your own egos.

Get over yourselves. It's a game.

THANK you.

I have my ups and down in Celest, first time I played, I played as Chariecar, a Paladin. Then I suicided and played as Iskan, he went on for 4 years then suicided also, then I created another named Lysandus, he's still there, asleep... Then I played as Diego, suicided after his love dumped him. Then now I'm Turgeis, still alive, still breathing, still fighting for Celest.

So all I can say is...
wink.gif
CELEST RULES 4EVA!

Whoah, you were a LOT of people that I enjoyed interacting with biggrin.gif

And now with regards to people who say moderates in Celest don't exist... COUGH*pointTervic*COUGH
Heck, his view of the whole taint thing isn't that they're evil and should be killed on sight ZOMGHEATHENSKILL! Try talking to him IG...

Thus, until each and every one of you a.) has an alt in Celest with a lot of time there and b.) talks to Tervic IG, Celest stays. After that, if you still hate it, I'll supply the TNT.

I think there may be another way to divert the current course taint v. light is on. Right now it's very stagnant, the same thing over and over: "Taint suxorz! naw dog, light blows!", we need something else to have a controversy over.
An Idea: A threat to the cities, that helps the communes, and visa versa. There can still be the light V taint RP, but make some commune v. city RP too? It's in the histories, I say we implement it in a big fashion. More than just the Gorgog quest/feeding fae to supernals/demon lords. Something as powerful as the hatred between light and taint... (Maybe something like, a new pathway on astral to a further away plane that the cities can draw immense amounts of power from blah blah other good stuff. Of course they try and open it up, and kaboom! Another project cosmic hope disaster. The avatars etc. Blame the cities for the problems they've brought upon the basin, and then make it a battle for survival between forests and cities...) Sound fun?

Nope, no fun, because the cities would have no potions and then would kneel down and submit to the communes.
