Spectre Isle - decent all the way up into the L80's. I can continually bash it for 3-4%xp a pop with virtually no effort.

Toscha monastery - that should be influencing till 60 at least if you are any good at tracking the moving monks.
Gandal2006-12-13 05:07:19
I think it's still decent up to 65, if not higher.
EDIT: Tosha, I mean.
Sintor2006-12-15 19:58:55
Need a few good hunting places for 65+. This lists astral but I'm not sure how to get there or if I could even get down should I get there.

Gorgogs.

Where?
Diamondais2006-12-15 21:08:20
In Bondero Bay, one of the Islands.
Rauros2006-12-15 22:28:21
Tosha is overdone. There needs to be more influence areas at that level. Preferably ones that are not only accesible via aethership.

Gorgogs.

Just as a warning, they can hit for up to about 1500.

EDIT: Regular attack is ~800, I think.

If anything, we need more influencing areas for higher levels. There really aren't any good places for level 75+ to influence for experience, it's mostly hunting from there on up.

My char is at lvl 67 at the mo. 18yrs and still rather new to the game.

I haven't been bashing really, one or two strikes and the odd albatross.

My sole experience gaining has been influencing and doing the supplicants quest and pilgrims and scholars.

As I really enjoy influencing contrary to bashing, is there any suggestions (apart from Tosha) that is good to influence? I basically been influencing named mobs in villages, named mobs in city, random mobs in city.

I don't like Tosha because monks move and I can never remember which one I influenced.

EDIT:

My char's skill in influencing has given him 2 skill of each influence type and can Bureaucrat in Dramatics.

Weeel.. here's one explanation. It's easy to create areas which cater for bashing and influencing (e.g tosha), but a high-level area dedicated only to influencing would be irritating for high-level bashers who feel (or, with the undervault, I should say 'felt') the pinch of not enough bashing places.

As you get to the higher (or highest) levels, the exp required per % gets so enormous that you become dependent on criticals to be able to bash at any speed. In the same time as it took me to gain 2% at level 97 influencing a series of humanoids, I would have gained about 8% on Astral. Without criticals, influencing will always be shunned by serious bashers who are aiming at titan, which means (and I know that I'm generalising), that an influence only area aimed for high level bashers would be unhelpful from about ninety upwards.
Unknown2007-05-14 13:15:06
Ah, so you're disagreeing with the first statement instead of the second. That makes more sense.

But I still don't agree with you. All you need to do for a good high level influencing area is to have large numbers of humanoids that don't go aggro on you. Being friendly and having reliable amounts of gold on them would be nice as well. And if influencing is not feasible from level 90 onwards, why not an influencing area targeted at level 60/70 to 90?

And as for an influence-only area, it could incorporate a quest-like method to allow non-influencers some way to gain experience there as well.

And if high level bashers have too little bashing spots, where do high level influencers go to? I've been at Tosha monks from level 20 to now level 79. And switching from influencing to hunting not feasible for someone who is unable to access OOC credits and have a third of their lessons invested in influencing.

Someone want to update this guide? (Just rewrite the first post and we'll update the first post with the most comprehensive list.)
Daganev2007-06-13 19:16:33
Yeah, I was dissagreeing that having more influence areas would be helpfull. what you need are criticals in influencing.

Also, you'ld have to make the place easy to influence but hard to bash, which would be pretty bad.

The crabs and pelicans of the tidal flats are dangerous to a mere 21+

This hasn't been updated with a few of the newer areas, and is limited to what I knew when I wrote it, and may be too Serencentric, and is probably way too prolix for you, but... here's the bit from the Spiritsingers' GHELP HUNTING that corresponds. Maybe it can serve as a new starting point, or something. Besides, while you all laughingly point out my errors, I'll get feedback necessary to correct it, so you're all working for me! Muhahah. Or something.

*revive*

I feel like I've asked this before, but I must check again... by how much do the influence great runes affect your influencing? Let's say at 19 charisma, does it cut down influences by 1 or 2 'attacks'?
