you have a point, and we always want it pointed in the general direction of the enemy... I guess I'll have to find a way to have a straight-ish Scimitar
I wonder if they'll let me call it a "backsword" from that Wiki site!
And here's the ... heres the sword for now.
Item: Scimitar type: Swords Org: -
Commidities:18 steel, 10 silver, 2 ruby
Important: The main noun of this item MUST include the word: Scimitar
Appearance: A horseman's sword.
Dropped: An equine carved scimitar lays here.
Examined: The scimitar is clearly a horseman's sword, grip and pommel carved into the likeness of a horse's head in silver, the crossguard shaped in a curving fashion coming from base of the head. The head faces toward the true edge of the blade and bright rubies act as its eyes, glinting back red light, as if the horse were alive. The blade is of darkened steel, lengthened for fighting on horseback, and is laced with lines of silver.
edit: I set is back, I've decided it'd be better to have the horses head rest upward in a scabbard.
EDITx2: Anyone else have a thought or comment?
Editx3: And the thread goes quiet...

Is it masterwork? Because, frankly... I wouldn't hassle if it wasn't. Most people do not use non-masterworks if they can avoid it. So if you want your design to be popular, make it masterwork (and probably all-metal, so it'd be cheap to reforge).

Woo! Go Ralina! Don't worry you'll get the hang of designing in no time!

I'd remove the bolded part, because it shows something relative (how is it clearly a horseman's sword? Even if it's long enough to fight from horseback, some people might not know it) as a fact. I like it, apart from this line.

Alright... -ponder-
Cuber: below are anwsers to your posts.
1: Making it mastercraft would make me have to amp the number of commidies insanly -pout-
2: The horseman part is for people who want to RP fighting from horse back
edit I'd need to come up with something else then to put in it's place... and thats my only idea

There is NO way something can be "clearly a horseman's sword" - what about it makes it so special that someone looking at it for the first time would think it is "clearly" a horseman's sword? THAT is what you should put here - what makes it seem like a horseman's sword, not that it seems like one.
Unknown2006-07-24 22:52:07
but what would I put there, that shows it so?
Daganev2006-07-24 23:11:46
pictures of horsies on it?
Unknown2006-07-24 23:27:57
It is mounted in a horse head hilt and pommel.... -sigh- I'll add carvings
Daganev2006-07-24 23:34:28
I was kidding!
You could say something like, this blade is long enough to reach the stomach of a human from the back of a large warhorse.

-sigh- then I'd have to come up with new things for ALL the disciption things, which I can't do.

I recommend this change.
Appearance: a shimmering glimmering sparkly translucent glowing sword that is clearly used while on horse back
Dropped: A horseman's sword lies here crying softly because it is not in the hands of someone that is on horseback this very moment.
Commodities: horse 1 rider 1 hand 1 steel 2
Examined:
This is a horseman's sword. Can't you tell? Its all horsey like and has horsey pictures on it. See there is a momma horse and a daddy horse and look baby horse too. Its soo cute! The pommel is even a horse! Man this sword is awesome. It sparkles with glowy like power and if you look at it at the right moment it dances a little jig.

My athame doesn't dance! Damn dagger. I'd so trade it for a jig-dancing sword.

This beautifully carved scimitar appears to be a horseman's sword. Markings of equines run along the slight curve of the blade, adding to length and also giving the appearance that it is much longer than it really is. The grip and pommel of the scimitar is crafted into the likeness of a horse's head made of silver. The head is facing towards the true edge of the blade and bright rubies act for eyes, reflecting red light as light pierces through and seem to burn with a certain "life." The crossguard is shaped into a curving fashion coming from the base of the head. Lines of silver lace across and through the equines on the blade, adding even more length. The blade is made of darkened steel and seems to enhance the eyes' of the horse.
Just redid it a bit, and added a little...

Not mastercrafted? hmm... you might get more use if it was a masterclass But, whatever
Unknown2006-07-25 16:11:32
But Mastercrafted would take so many more Comms
Kaalak2006-07-29 07:57:02
I like it so far, just a few things I thought of.
This beautifully carved scimitar appears to be a horseman's sword. Engraved equines run along the slight curve of the blade, lengthening the edge. The silver grip and pommel are crafted into the likeness of a horse's head, facing the true edge of the blade. The horse’s eyes are a pair of bright rubies that burn with a strange inner radiance. The crossguard is shaped into a long curve originating from the base of the head. Lines of silver weave through the equine carvings on the blade, accentuating the sword’s length. The darkened steel of the blade complements the glimmering ruby eyes of the horse's head, giving an overall impression that the horse is somehow sentient.
