You will all pay.

On the first year when it looks like I might have been able to go. Talk about unforseen consequences! My even plotting crashing the geek party has had cosmic repercussions.

Bastards.

Here's to hoping this is some sick, sad joke.
Vauraugli2006-07-31 15:55:48
Augh. I've wanted to go to an E3 for years... sad.gif
Unknown2006-07-31 15:58:55
So does this mean that they'll let any attend now? We can all dress up as Fain and Ialie and make pretend it's a Lusternia-con.

I'm going to go cry now.

I have always wondered about E3. I was like, why is it so flashy if the only people suppose to be there are not the consumers but just people who need to make back cubicle deals.

After I wasn't allowed to go to E3 this year, I knew something was up. But I wasn't expecting this.

Expect GDC to grow, and a new gaming for consumers only event to pop up, unless ofcourse the developers are getting sick of E3 development deadlines which add needless crunch time into the development cycle.

E3 has always been about annoucing the future of electornic entertainment... It is an industry convention, not a consumer convention... They are just trying to get back to their roots. Only the last three have been showy.
Daganev2006-07-31 20:33:38
THe last 4 have been showy. Actually, 4 years ago, E3 was more fun because they had more games for your to play on the show floor, the last 3 years was more of watching movies, and less of playing games.
Unknown2006-07-31 20:39:09
Bastards, my hope at going to E3 is ruined. Now...let us have a moment of silence for E3...

Plus the biggest complaint I got from thoe press who I know who went was that there were to many people there, and the press had hard time actually getting to look at things, and ask questions, resulting in the least informative post E3 news season I have ever seen.

I am all for going back to the roots. Now if they would only bring back San Diegos Commputer and Technology Expo and have it the weekend after Comic Con like it used to be so I can easily attend both, I would just be fine :-p

I'm still waiting for a hotel to open up in Vegas that is ALL E3 24/7

I bet they would make more money than the slots.

Strippers, prostitutes and games... Los Vegas would become the center of Dorkdom... aspiring actors goto hollywood, Dorks of all ilk goto Vegas...

Thankfully I have the DnD dork thing to save me from that fate... I hate Vegas with a passion...
Veonira2006-07-31 21:26:12
Yeah, I also always wanted to go to one also. That is le'suck.
Acrune2006-08-01 05:03:34
Look at it as a good thing.

E3 was always sort of a predetermined deadline. This lead to many things, including rushed games, and all good games coming out the same time of the year. Without E3, hopefully we'll be seeing fewer games rushed onto the shelves, and we'll be seeing good games more year round.

*points at Fable*

That poor game got so shafted because they were trying to rush it.

That, and Peter Molyneux overhyped it, so what was really a decent game is considered to be a poor one compared to what Molyneux made us expect. I imagine E3 had something to do with that too.

Yeah.

The only thing I actually dislike about the game, is that they have a completely awesome point to let you choose either male or female, and they don't let you. The story wouldn't have really changed at all if they had let you choose your gender, and it would have made the game much more enjoyable for a lot of players who otherwise didn't care for it. I know a few girls who chose to buy other games because you could only be a guy in a game that was supposedly all about choices.
Nepthysia2006-08-01 05:51:44
meh.. somehow I feel no loss for E3....

I'm going to GDC next year and making it a yealy habit of course.

Hoping to go to WGC too.

Yeah, even Pokemon wised up and lets you choose your gender. A small difference that probably did a lot more than people think. So... Nintendo is the smartest bugger? :/

How many pokemon games went by before there was a choice? tongue.gif There's only been one fable. Well... like 1.5-ish
Diamondais2006-08-03 00:45:51
Nintendo got a lot of complaints about the gender things Im pretty sure, I know theres been quite a few times Ive been on a verge of sending nasty letters.
Acrune2006-08-03 00:55:23
Feminists grrr.gif

I'd play a female character if that was the only choice, just deal with it tongue.gif
