For those who weren't sure: Resistance is 10%. Draconis is 15%.
I don't think splitting the Magic skill will make the entire issue go away. Yes, 30% is huge, but this is fairly insignificant compared to all the other magic defs stacked together. People with inept magic can achieve huge magic resistance.
Something else people are overlooking is that symbol strike was introduced primarily as a bashing attack. Cosmicfire is superior in Pk, as intended. The point still stands for moonburst, however. I think it's unfair how badly it compares to nightkiss.

Symbols are fun in PK. I can tank symbol during inquisition without any regen.
Verithrax2006-08-09 02:20:35
Er... are the wiccan and guardian classes supposed to cause any decent damage anyway? They don't kill through damage, and they don't benefit at all, in a fight, from causing health damage in most cases, and denizens don't have any of those resistences.
Sylphas2006-08-09 02:33:41
Well, we do damage kill with Rage. I could tank a coven of five for a few rounds before I had to shield.

Yes we do? It's not like we even have an instakill, although toadcurse is near enough to one I guess.
Torak2006-08-09 04:42:32
Guardians and Wicca do indeed kill with damage, I did quite a bit.
Sylphas2006-08-09 04:48:49
Really, Wiccans always kill with damage. Toadcurse just puts them at a few hundred health with no defenses, and stomp hits about as hard as Moonburst. Toadcurse is far from an instakill when you have to stomp at least twice for anyone with decent health.
Athalas2006-08-09 04:57:50
You know what i'd like? Toadcurse to be a instakill, that leaves behind a toad thing which will hop away at a decent rate. It will count as the persons corpse for all normal purposes, so to revive you'd have to catch the toad. Yayz.

I would adore that.
Shorlen2006-08-09 07:16:29
Then the skill would have to be changed a lot
Ixion2006-08-09 07:30:34
Why would it? Making toadcurse a half mana insatkill would make it like Absolve. Why shouldn't that happen? Ahhhh now I remember, celestines have that skill and they are in celest, so that's why wiccans can't have the same amazingly powerful instakill.

I thought there were more restrictions on Absolve besides just half mana?

that's Wrack, I believe. When I was a Paladin, three amisos were my death angel. You only need to be half mana

Not everyone agrees that any particular suggestion is 'reasonable'. I will say however that sometimes people assume things have been requested that aren't. Recently someone has accused us of stopping Roark from making Pureblade and Axelord upgrades that he agreed to, which is completely untrue.
Woot, GO ME! Finally get some type of answer too. Well the reason I did say that is because I was told that by some envoys at the warrior summit and also per some later discussions with them. So if I was misinformed, I do apologize. But it is good to finally have a confirmation that certain upgrades will be implemented at some point in the future.
Sorry, had to chime in on that part.
/end hijack

Wiccans kill with damage. Other than that, we have 1 way of killing anyone, which is toadcurse.

I hope Absolve costs 10p. If it costs less then 8 I'm going to be sad.
Shamarah2006-08-09 12:04:17
Absolve is 8p and requires that the target be at half mana.
Wrack is 5p and requires that the target be at half mana and somehow entangled.

Sylphas2006-08-09 12:07:41
Absolve should be 10p, or Toadcurse should be 6 or 7, or Toadcurse should instakill. Why the hell should the weaker skill cost the same as the stronger?
Shamarah2006-08-09 12:16:37
Because it's totally impossible to pull an absolve on a competent person without first putting up quickening (3p).

Not really. If your angel is set for mana draining afflictions, you're not draining mana any slower than a wiccan.
