And he sipped vials like four times and in pretty close proximity to each other. I assume the moonstone is health since he sipped it twice.

I gave up on damage at this point. Sarrasri is a Lucidian (level 2 racial resistance) Moondancer. -5- cosmic fires did not stack 800 damage. Note that I do -less- damage with symbol because its pure magic.

Laaame. I don't need damage to kill as a Celestine (next time, I'll just absolve or judge), but no less, I find the inability to use damage given the absurd amount of magic resistances terribly unbalanced. When people can achieve 8000+ health, it is just outright retarded ANY ATTACK should do under 200 damage when it is a plain old damage attack (except for kick/punch).

Hmm...that does seem a tad on the unbalanced side, but I I think I agree with Narsrim that we should not get some hugh boost or anything but clearly magic resistance is too much.

I don't mind doing the crapiest damage in the game, but this is alittle too crappy.

I didn't offer all that many solutions originally (I meant too, but forgot) so here goes:

1. I think Magic skillset should counter Magic skillset. Specifically, if the target is Trans Magic and the caster is Trans Magic, the bonus protection to Magic should be reduced. A mastery of Magic should offensively more or less negate (say drop down to only 10%) a mastery of Magic defensively. Note this would have NO effect on someone who didn't have any Magic.

2. Robes should be able to be proofed for all damage types and proofed multiple times for the same damage type BUT each proof only gives 5% (the exception would be splendor which should work how it currently does). Thus, if someone really wanted a LOT of magic resistance, they could proof their robe 4 times to get more than they can achieve now... but they do so at a sacrifice of no protection against other damage types.

3. Low level magic defenses should be reduced in the amount of protection they afford. For example, consider Drawdown (a trans ability). It offers about 30% reduction to damage... yet resistance/draconis (both more or less novice or just outside of novicehood skills) stack for 25% resistance to magic. I think these should probably only be about 5% each for a sum of 10%. If you consider paladins, they can get resistance, draconis, and benediction (which are all relatively low abilities) to achieve more magic resistance together than drawdown provides!

4. And finally, I think some resonsideration down the road when races are tweaked again should be given to the fact that the single most common resistance is magic. I think for flavor/variety, they should be more spread out.

5. Of all things, Violet/Kether should by god be at least 50% psychic if nothing else changes. It is absolutely absurd that a Dreamweaver (who can channel some health back) can indefinately tank violets/kethers from someone who has 18-20+ intelligence, war blessing, etc. Urazial as a Blacktalon Dreamweaver was able to indefinately tank me as a 22 int Mugwump violeting - which I feel is a huge balance issue.

Benediction gives the same def as Athletics resistance.

If Moonburst were to become 50% Magic and 50% something else, what would that something else be? Fire, Cold, Lightning, Asphyxiation, Poison, Psychic... (am I missing anything?) Which would make the most sense for moonburst? Making it 50% Fire seems too much like Cosmicfire, and Moonburst doesn't seem very Fiery, Cold, Shocking, Suffocating, Poisonous, or Psychic...
