I can't connect to Nexus anymore due to my new over-working pop-up-blocker, so...bleh.

If theres anyone out there who can tell me how to connect via telnet, I would /greatly/ appreciate it. x_x

Start>Run>cmd

telnet

set localecho

set term ansi

open www.luternia.com 23

but...there will definitely be a way to let the pop up bast your pop up blocker so it might be worth investigations that before you resort to telnet.

Telnet is horrible. At least get a Mudclient, even a free one like MM2k. Or Mushclient, but it's not really free, it's shareware, and it's one of those things you really should pay for. (I have to say that or Ethelon will come to this thread and correct me, heh).

I used gmud for a while, better then java anyways. And yeah, you should be able to get your blocker to let java through.

http://www.lusternia.com/nexus/play.php?port=23

Use that for the direct link to the Java client, no need for Telnet.

You're able to turn the block off and on, when its on you'll see a little icon either on the bottem bar of the webpage or sometimes, like this one I had, on the menu bar at the bottem.

As for the turning off of the popup blocker, I can't. It's set up through my Norton Antivirus and my mom said she'd keel me if I tampered with it :x
Diamondais2006-08-10 19:46:17
Oh, ha, Norton. Yeah, I understand now. laugh.gif

Holding down a key (usually ctrl) whilst you click the link will let the pop up through on that occasion only

Don't MUSH and the other mudclients work off interpreting stuff that comes over telnet? I'm 99% sure that they connect to the telnet ports on the lusternia servers.

Yes...all muds run using the telnet protocol (well there are a couple of exceptions but 99.9% run over telnet) so all MUD clients are just glorified telnet clients with scripting support.

By Telnet, he meant the basic telnet. On/off input/output. End.
