I disagree on the quoted part of your statement. I could afflict faster and with better results with runes than I could with telepathy. Telepathy only has a few afflictions to begin with, and the ones that are useful are also easy to detect and come at a slow rate. I would say that afflictions are not a strong point of Telepathy. Psivamp, Mindblast, Mindburst, and Mind Command are in my opinion the gems of that specialization.

That's stupid. Once again, the bitching of people who see someone having an oppurtunity they don't have comes to the forums and changes the game.

What was so bad about being able to sell esteem? It was something interesting and unique. But wait, you mean the Joe Blow couldn't manage it? Well then, it just has to go.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong with this game. There was absolutely no reason that had to change. And its funny, because karma curses aren't used anyway. But the sheer possibility that this might have made it a tiny bit easier to undo those never-used things, was just too much to bear.

Oh, what's that you say? People can still buy them for the essence and thus earn a crap load of favors? Yeah, no one seems to care about that, even though with the Karma vs Essence ratio that you used to gain from offering 100% items, you'd be able to earn more favors than you could upkeep blessings.

Why the hell are you so pissed off, Fallen? This change is fine. People can still buy esteem for essence but can't acquire karma with gold, which is a good fix, and it's a nice boost for influencers, who will now be able to earn both karma and gold for their work, as opposed to just karma and essence. Everyone wins.

I've never heard of Charune letting people buy favors like that, maybe I'm missing out. It's stupid to be able to do that in the first place, though, if your god does.

And they either had to implement this, or change it back so that you get karma for offering corpses you didn't kill. It's silly to have one deemed wrong and changed, while you can just do it with esteem.

I'm pissed off because the change was inspired by a bunch of whiners who were pouting simply because they could. This forum has a habit of flexing its bitching muscle whenever it sees the oppurtunity, even when the situation is stupid.

There is nothing wrong with buying karma in such small quantities for such large ammounts of gold. If you want to pay 1,000 gold per 1% of karma, then fine. Because, guess what, you can offer gold for nearly that ammount.

Basically, people bitched at a non-existant problem simply because they could. And that is what pisses me off.



Er. You offer lots of essence to a God, you're probably going to get a favor. Just the way it works.

And no, they didn't have to bring back one thing because of this. Why does everything have to be ing identical? Why can't one thing have something different? You could sell corpses and get more gold, at the cost of karma and essence. This gave influencers that same ability.

I just think its absolutely rediculous that you people are so obsessed with making everything boring by making sure any signs of unique are quickly squashed out of it like female arousal upon sighting Jack.

At the prices I got esteem for it was more like 600 gold per 1% karma, which isn't a bad deal at all on top of the fact that buying esteem is worth so much more essence that offering direct gold. Pay 15,000 gold for 60,000 essence and 25% karma or pay 15,000 gold for 15,000 essence and maybe 7-8% karma? It was just too good.

You can always sell corpses, you have to hope someone with money to blow is around who wants essence to sell your esteem. You really can't compare the two.

Secondly, paying for karma is a problem. If you really want to offer gold, feel free. If it's a problem, they'll fix it. I'm sorry you can't see that, but throwing a fit doesn't make you right.

Which still means that it would cost you at least 30k per Blessing. And more like 75k for an average combatant to remove a curse. That is a lot of gold. And guess what, there aren't enough prime influencing areas to support a large market for esteem selling. The trait of esteem was balanced just fine, in that it would never allow for a large ammount of people to be immune to curses, or to carry infinite blessings.

And prices were quickly rising on esteem. Don't forget that.



But wait.. YOU GUYS threw a fit to get it changed. I'm just saying i'm sick of the forum resorting to constant bitching.

Curses don't matter. They suck and no one uses them.

Moving on. Esteem is still perfectly fine - even paying 30,000 gold for 100% esteem (way too much, in my eyes) is a 2:1 deal, which is pretty damn nice. If the karma given by it was no unabusable and such a moot point, then why the hell are you raising such a fuss about that? That's all that they changed.

We're all immersed in this game, and many of us rather heavily invested in it both emotionally and financially. Reasoned discussion is nice, but we're all human, we're going to bitch from time to time. Do you really think the admin change things they see absolutely no problem with because we whine? I'd hope you respect them a bit more than that.

I don't remember any bitching. I remember a bunch of us making constructive suggestions that esteem be balanced in order to prevent it from being too good. If you want to see fit-throwing and bitching, just look at what you're doing right now.

I'm pissed because of why it was changed. Because there was no problem. The forums simply united in an unfounded whine-fest, and it was so. That is not something that the admin should be encouraging. Not with this ing crowd. I think it was a big mistake. It was unabusable, and was balanced by the oppurtunities to create said items. The only reason it was changed was because idiots with no grasp on the fact that it would take insane ammounts of gold to get a real benefit from whinned blindly on the forums.

Um, I dont see the problem. If you offer corpses of something you didn't kill, you don't get karma. Why should you be able to offer esteem you didn't earn and get karma?

It wasn't done because of this forum Fallen... It was done because it was in the envoy monthly report.. The envoys must have agreed upon it and put it in... Then Estarra must have agreed too and implemented it.. She may listen to us here, but that does not mean that everyone that bitches here gets something "nerfed" as you would say. I think the idea is fine... I don't want the karma from imbued items... I want the essence... let the influencer keep the karma.

There was no great upheaval, no giagantic whine-fest, just a handful of people in one topic. Please stop exaagerating.

Anyway, there have been plenty of times when such things HAVE happened, when hordes of forum-goers have bitched and whined ceaselessly across multiple topics, and never even been acknowledged by the admin, let alone listened to, so I imagine that they looked into the problem and deemed it one in need of correction rather than just, "OMG THE FORUMS ARE PISSED QUICK CHANGE SHIT!".

Or I could just look at some of the many threads you've made over the years. I'm not even asking for this to be changed back. I'm saying that the way and the reason it was changed is horrible, and is only going to inspire this forum of whiners to continue on their unholy crusade to turn this game into one giant game of rock-papper-sisscors, where everything is identical, except with different names.
