Back to Common Grounds.

Also expressing resentment over the SoA artifact. In Achaea the miss rate is far far far lower than in Lusternia. I don't think stancing exists there either.

Why should we be given a 100% hit rate just because of this minor change? The problem with missing multiple times in a roll should be fixed, but making us 100% accurate is not needed at all.

I... agree. With Geb.

Well, I think they should be 100% accurate against denizens, but not with players, because then anyone without trans combat with be supremely fuxxored, and I don't want to suck even harder.

Nice... could the faerie wings be made regular artis too?

New influence runes!
-A Great Rune to increase charity attacks. (100 credits)
-A Great Rune to increase seduction attacks. (100 credits)
-A Great Rune to increase empowerment attacks. (100 credits)
-A Great Rune to increase weakening attacks. (100 credits)
-A Great Rune to increase paranoia attacks. (100 credits)

Interesting, and I'm certainly glad this is broken up rather then 500 credits for a boost to all types.

Thank you!....Now to be able to aford that. I have a new goal now.

The absorption artifact as it stands only affects one of the damage types. I hit Dia and it fired and still did 700 damage.

Basically the artifact as it stands right now only impacts two groups in the way described: non-elemental Warriors and people with 100% magic damage. It only partially blocks multitype attacks.

Great Rune of Absorption (500 credits)
- Imbues you with a 15% chance of absorbing all physical damage.
- Only one will ever be effective per person (i.e., does no stack).

As in, cutting/blunt.

I'm confused about the magic fountain... does it give five random refills a month? Or is it five refills of vials with at least one sip remaining, of any type? Or is it one type of refill that you can fill five vials from, randomly?

Edit: Also, how many sips does it refill for? Is it only allies or anyone that can use it? If you don't use it, do they build up over time?
Unknown2006-08-14 00:51:32
They just got their smack on all over Knights. We don't need no SoA here. Why don't we get a rune for absorbing all fire damage 15% of the time. I'd like one of those, personally.

I think it is simply because it would remove some of the luck from the equation, one miss is really too much. Unlike the IRE games we have no way to boost our accuracy sufficiently either. Also why should warriors be the only one with not only artifacts and two skillsets, but also their own accuracy working against them.

Warriors are also the ones with the most artifacts working to boost their damage, wounding, and speed. Also, since a person only dodges areas he has a stance protecting (suppose to work that way), I would say Combat is actually not as good as Avoidance from other realms. You also have to remember that warriors do not need any skill-sets outside of their guild skill-set to be effective with their weapons. Warriors in other realms (Achaea did fix that) needed weaponry alongside chivalry to fight well.

I don’t see a problem with having to deal with rebounding, stances, and parrying. I know exactly how dangerous I would be if I had a 100% hit rate. I would be completely overpowered. You would be completely overpowered. So on and so forth down the line.

Ah ok, imperian style. I figured it was Achaea-style which is all damagetypes. I hadn't read the helpfile, just the announces(which say "all")
Soll2006-08-14 00:53:02
I gathered this:

Each new month, the fountain fills up with 5 refills of one type of potion, poison or alcohol. You can fill five vials or bottles from the fountain. When the next month comes, it resets and you get a different five refills.

Uh, no it's not. I own the equiv in Achaea. It's damage only.

Then they must've changed it. Because it used to be any damagetype, including magical sourced nonphys damage.

True, I agree with the idea that warriors should be 100% accurate against denizens.

Also, here is an example of the absorption rune working on an attack against myself.

5547h, 3357m, 3933e, 10p, 23020en, 13650w elrxk<>-RightArm Jab
Cleaving through your defenses, Geb makes a slow deadly strike at your right arm
with a warrior's iron greatsword. Geb strikes your right arm, striking a major
artery which splurts blood in all directions.
A magic aura flares around you and completely absorbs the damage.
5218h, 3320m, 3933e, 10p, 22979en, 13650w elrk<>-

So my elemental damage still went through like another above me has stated.

Ah, ok... weird.

It is probably worth it if you end up with anatine or vitae every couple of years, I suppose. And if both cities purchase many fountains, they could vastly decrease their reliance on the communes.

I mean, I know org's have purchased cubixes before - imagine if they bought 8 fountains. That's 40 vials a RL day, not much, but they could stockpile over the months and very quickly build up a nice quantity for when alchemist refills are actually hard to find.

Edit: Actually, that would work for personal stocking of a shop as well. I wonder if you can refill kegs from this fountain?

Edit edit: On second thought, I doubt it... so it would just be vials you could sell. Still, not too bad if you want a free side-business.

yay... warriors now have -more- chances to miss entierly!! biggrin.gif
