You can rub enchantments with broken limbs. It's the same as cleanse.
...
Well, that's just great. Do ANY of our afflictions other than sap or vines interfere with rubbing?
Sylphas2006-08-26 03:09:09
I'm still not sure why they made ignite kill thorns, and not Summer/Tipheret. It makes no sense that thorns will burn, but vines and ropes won't.
Unknown2006-08-26 03:10:21
With this I think that vines ought to be made fireproof.
Unknown2006-08-26 03:26:34
If we have to keep the current limitations, how about:
- You can only thornlash someone while they are prone. (Helps prevent whoring)
- Bleeding is delivered on writhe as it is now.
- Ignite burns off one vine only.
- Specialization skills of runes, ecology and dreamweaving are compared to psionics and improved accordingly.
- You can only thornlash someone while they are prone. (Helps prevent whoring)
- Bleeding is delivered on writhe as it is now.
- Ignite burns off one vine only.
- Specialization skills of runes, ecology and dreamweaving are compared to psionics and improved accordingly.

How about the madness of psionics is looked at and compared to runes, ecology, and dreamweaving and is adjusted accordingly?

Oh, and Tuek veto'd a runes upgrade.

I don't get why asking for smudges to hit trees wasn't top priority? Seriously.
Oh yea, and the whole one smudge thing. At least one per DRUID, maybe. Would help out the Communes in group combat since we are missing the group combat staples (boulderblast/hailstorm, bubble/stoneform, etc.)

I veto'd adding Vapors as a runic affliction. For obvious reasons.

Blackout statues that knock you prone would be a bitch.

It would be far too easy to run someone out of ignite charges.
Being able to choose what you writhe out of is a terrible change. Hope this gets changed back soon.

Paralysis lasts how long? 1.2 seconds?
Unknown2006-08-26 04:18:02
And in addition, being off eq or balance, prone or stunned all prevent rubbing enchantments, and we have ways of doing all these things. We don't need more ways to do it, or cleansing sap would be an even more difficult prospect.

Focus body takes a good 3-4 seconds for me. I don't know what the hell you're all using to cure.

Your discipline skill has a huge impact on focus body time.

Focusbody speed is dependant on Disicpline skill.
Okay, I just don't get this. Psionics is a skillset that everyone KNOWS is overpowered, even those who use it. Yet, there were ZERO updates to balance it in line with Runes and Dreamweaving, the other "choices" that Magi get. And yet we druids get not one but THREE nerfs to our only new toy that made us able to do something outside of our demesne. We still had to be in a forest, sure, but at least it's better than nothing.
I mean, sure Thornlash was a bit overpowered, but THREE nerfs to it? Out of eight updates, THREE of them were nerfs to Thornlash? Back to using sap, I guess, since there is NO way to stick Thornlash anymore, and there is now no benefit to using it without it sticking like there used to be.
And what the heck did the Hartstone envoy submit that was clearly turned down?

It's because the Mages Envoys were smart enough not to ask for their own downgrades.

This is an extremely bad trend to encourage though. The druid envoys should be commended for objectively recognizing an area of imbalance and working to address it. That is one of their primary functions, I would imagine.
Terenas2006-08-26 06:06:05
The fact of the matter is that most people don't think their own skills are overpowered. However, occasionally there are some good suggestions that attempt to balance the class, but those are few and far in between.

What you don't know is that a downgrade to psionics is coming down the pike. It is just that things probably have to be ironed out concerning how the downgrade will be implemented and worked.
Also, certain skills in psionics have been downgraded. You notice how you can eat Sparkleberry to cure a burst vessel? How about the fact that Mindburst does not do insane damage anymore based on a person’s max ego level? Both downgrades suggested by mage envoys btw.
Ashteru2006-08-26 08:26:44
To be honest, I don't see much use to writhing out of entanglement/robes etc. specified, besides the obvios thing of vines and thorns.
And why are pinleg/crucify and all not mentioned in the helpfile?
Oh, and it seems a bit much that Nihilists can stack Hangedman, Shackles AND normal web..
