Well Narsrim, based on your combat as a wiccan, I would say either go sacraments BC, or telepathic mage.
I don't think you gave the celestines the chance to work out your techiniques enough to give it a fair judgement, but I definately see why you chose to switch out of that archetype. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your major problem with the class is that you were unable to pound an offensive constantly, utilizing every second and never waiting. You can do the same as a BC, and a psionic mage.
That said, I would say don't go telekinetic mage. They are one trick ponies, and have rather cheap skills (choke, barrier, e.g). In any event I think you'd enjoy being able to completely and utterly negate shields with either mindblast/mindburst and burst/heartburst.
I would say BC over mage, iff you have the credits to invest in the class.

Sadly, I decided not to go BC because of the down time to get oriented, get decent weapons, etc. I like the idea - I like the potential... but after spending like 8 hours straight gathering supplicants so I could possess a symbol that did 200-500 damage, my patience has worn thin.
I haven't picked telekinesis yet, but I think I'll go with it until I get titan and maybe switch then.
Hell, I'm just excited to have a room attack! I drool at the idea of Celest having another mage who can hailstorm -or- imagine jumping someone you really want to gut with barrier/psychicblock (blocks ALL forms of telepathic communication like CT, CLT, OT, GT, etc) + a flamed monolith.

Maybe you should have given it more time.
Didn't any of the smaller cosmic skills grow on you? Quickening? Timeslip?

GO GO GRIEFING POWERS?

Somehow I knew you'd pick the cheap class rather than telep.
Also.. try this on for size.
Narsrim raises a holy symbol of the light towards you, and a scintillating beam of light burns into your chest.

Yes, barrier can be cheap at times, and there are ways to use whorish tactics with certain venoms on daggers.
The rest of telekinesis really isn't.

I... really don't think you gave Celestine a chance, and if it was significantly based on that mindnumbing FFA, I'm sorry. (I think that was fun for the first 30 min .)
Inquisition is promising - but I find most decent combatants are well versed in the "get your ass out of the way" tactic as soon as Heretic hits, such as Nirrti who was moving 10 rooms away and letting Heretic just fade.
Try two rooms away, and I would've let you chase me 'cause I'm not the patient type.
The last time we fought when you were a Moondancer, I was 10% of your might, couldn't cure aeon, and made a bad habit of wandering into Faethorn without kafe or sixthsense up. Moondancers are way easier to handle than Celestines. Wicca basically gets negated by simple triggers, whereas your angel, which doesn't, didn't seem to be around for most of that spar.
Anyway, done is done. Welcome to the world of demesnes.

Nirrit, as a Blacktalon, was damn near kicking my ass (and I had no problems with Nirrti whatsoever as a Moondancer... in fact, she usually went down relatively fast).

You'll start to hate them in a month or two, Narsrim. Demesnes can be evil. They're nice if you have them set up in advance... but they're evil
Unknown2006-08-14 05:17:52
He's a psionic aquamancer though... you don't need a demesne to be effective, they just make it much much nicer.
Unknown2006-08-14 05:19:40
Ha! This reminds me: Narsrim, I only wish that you will experience the unbridled joy and rapturous bliss I did while keeping defensive demesnes in EtherGlom until 3 am back when you used to raid five times an hour. Go go, karma!

True. Druids need a little help outside of forest terrain.. I'd hate druid combat.

Cause i'm bored I shall reveal the way to "hyper pwn" people with ultra low discipline as a telekinetic aquamancer. Step one, set up demesne, make sure to deluge. Step 2, obtain 1 dagger and mantakaya. Step 3, set dagger on person and use leglock/throatlock every time you recover. It's fun. THE WORD IS OUT

Well, telekinesis in general allows for that, not just Aquamancers. Use super for leglock and sub for a mantakaya dagger. Done.
Resilience and discipline (and lots of health) help loads against this, though. But yeah.. lowbies don't do so well. Disruption scrolls?

Welcome to mage combat - enjoy the simplicity

On the other hand, why does a warrior need to trans all guildskills and a truck load of credits for weapons and great runes to be effective?
Narsrim, be a warrior and lobby for us!

I gotta say, listening to my friend when he said to go aslaran bonecrusher when I first started playing was a blessing. I've loved every moment of it.
I understand where you're coming from, concerning the celestine. I myself have a little Celestine alt floating around, got him up to just before resurrect in sacraments, trans celestialism, and just before soulless in tarot. While fun, I found that if I'm unable to get a kill in the first 30-60 seconds of a fight, I was pretty screwed from there on out. Of course, without soulless, I was stuck on relying on absolve for kills, and could only get kills against decent fighters using the aeon/stupidity/anorexia combo.
It was fun though, I graduated novicehood and that same day I killed like 5-6 mediocre to decent fighters.
Have fun as an aquamancer, they have some mean tricks. One of my most hated is lacing a dagger with crotamine, and using bubble. At the end of a 5v1 wargames, where it was down to just he and I, he hit me with crotamine, and before I got the first warning message he bubbled me. Died before bubble popped

I was jumped by a group and had that happen So lame, in my eyes, that there's nothing you can do about it once it happens - one of the cheapest instakills you can do if you're lucky.
Forren2006-08-14 06:45:09
Yeah... crotamine+bubble is one thing I refuse to use. Cheap to the max. Phantom, charybdon, and bubble though.. that's nice.
Sylphas2006-08-14 07:21:24
Aside from demesne maintance being a loathful thing, Aquamancers are joy. Playing with one on test was SO tempting, but I can't at all justify switching. Illusions is fun as hell, and Psionics is excellent. And twirl staff is just delightful.

Actually, I was contrasting it to the other demesne guilds - Druids, because we are extremely dependent on being in forest to not get beaten to a pulp.
I'm fairly sure warriors take all of their offence with them wherever they are.
