Hmm. With both sleepmist and poison gas, Geomancers will eventually win, if they last long enough, outside of any other offense they put out.
Viscanti Druid ftw!

Fallen, either that's a bad joke, or you have no clue what is being talked about…
First of all the Poison gas they're talking about is a geomancer demense effect which makes you hungry(Ashteru isn't viscanti), and secondly Mages have the dreamweaving skillset open to them. You just don't see as many city dreamers as commune dreamers, because, lets face it, the Psi skills are much cooler.

Obviously you don't know what yooou are talking about.
Viscanti poison gas does the same thing as Geomancer poison gas, except that it is created only in one room.
It was said that a Dreamweaver Geomancer would eventually win. I was implying that I thought a Druid with the ability to use Poison Gas would be even better.

Yes, which I consider to be a bad joke.
An unspecilized Viscanti *shudder* could you imagine how horrible that would be? Firstly, you're a druid, so you're not in the taint, you're in forest, and if you're not in forest.. no demense... lose-lose then there's the int.. and.. ya it's just to horrible to think about, the only decent viscanti's are specilized one's in my mind, or at least normal ones in tainted areas fighting low-mid creatures.
Edit:And for all of that you get a room-attack

Just gotta be careful about how you time stuff and all that jazz, if you go Viscanti Druid. And have lotsa vials.

Except that druids don't kill with int-based attacks.
Unspecialized Viscanti have decent strength, so a Hartstone would have a decent gore in their arsenal. A Hartstone would also have medicine bag and stag totem to take the edge off of the sip penalty. Could also take Alchemy to further nullify it.
As a Blacktalon, again, you're neve relying on Int. Get them unconscious and then you can repeatidly use Caw to drain their mana, at which point you go for Swoop and end it.
And we can't forget that for both Druid guilds, you have the option of Thornrend.
Int means jack for a Druid outside of bashing.

You do realize that sleepmist at most doubles the rate of tiredness, so to get someone from fully rested to badly needing sleep, you'd have to have them sit in your demesne for two hours. It's a completely worthless skill.
Sylphas2006-08-21 23:33:07
No, I've never actually tested it. That blows.
In any case, they could just DeepSleep, it's the same point; tiredness and hunger are nearly uncurable.

Again, people who don't know like to flaunt their supposed knowledge.
On the test server, as a Tae'dae with 18ish strength, I was doing like 1500 with Gore. That definitely falls into the decent category. A Viscanti's gore would be a viable weapon. That is, assuming they would hurry up and give Stag Users a way to withdraw from the impalement.
Sylphas2006-08-21 23:44:04
It'd be very decent, if it didn't cost two power. They really need two syntaxes, one to instakill for 2 power, and one to gore normally. Instakill would still cost power if it failed, but would do normal damage.

Good idea. Have it envoyed. Along with the ability to WITHDRAW like blademasters can do, so you don't screw yourself.

Or give us Rend?

Rend might make Gore worthwhile. And it's three power, isn't it?
Sylphas2006-08-22 04:08:55
Nope, two. Plus the ten to put Stagform in the first place.
