Anyone else think that the number of spikes/supplicants one has given for a specific Supernal/Demon Lord should remain even in their deaths? It seems we're in for a big wave of back and forth cosmic war, which is freaking sweet, but it is a bit rough having to get 100 spikes EVERY time they fall. *snickers at the poor Razielan Celestines*
Unknown2006-08-16 02:16:31
uhhh... the last time I remember, it takes around 50-80 supplicants in our side, don't know with your part however so...
Trasse2006-08-16 02:27:06
Definitely took (and will take) me 100 spikes. I know I'm whining about something that didn't even exist a few months ago, but still, having to do a quest over and over just to keep a skill i've already learned is a bit vexing.
Shamarah2006-08-16 02:27:18
Yeah, you shouldn't lose deepbonds when the Supernal/Lord dies.
Reiha2006-08-16 02:28:49
I suppose if I actually played my Celestine alt more often I would be miffed, but I've designated him a non-combatant out of sheer laziness...and RP of course!
Diamondais2006-08-16 02:29:56
Should always be 100 by whats been said. Maybe a good alternative is do the 100 origionally and then every other additional time bring in 10? Doesnt take long to get 10.
Veonira2006-08-16 02:32:39
Yeah, I think it makes sense to sort of re-pact, but you shouldn't have to totally redo it.
Mirk2006-08-16 02:33:02
Could a possible alternative be that the symbol doesn't work when the demon lord/supernal is dead, and when they return to life it works again?
Jack2006-08-16 02:33:19
Shouldn't have to deepbond repeatedly, it's way too much effort for something exceedingly transient. Losing the pacts is tough enough; losing their secondary bashing ability and active method of dealing out afflictions is nigh-on crippling.
Verithrax2006-08-16 02:35:13
Loss of symbols is a stupid idea. There, I've said it, and it's true. Giving players a gameplay tool and then randomly taking it away and forcing them to get it back again because of what other people did, usually when said player didn't even have the ability to prevent what the other player did. IT's just frustrating, and doesn't work under the stress of actual play. I suggest it should be removed.
Trasse2006-08-16 02:37:24
Losing the deepbond itself is fine (only costs 10 power, and makes sense since you have to redo your bond first). All I'm asking is for that little counter of spikes/supplicants to not reset, or maybe each time a Demon Lord dies you lose like 20 souls on it, so when you've got your symbol you still have incentive to offer more spikes to a specific Lord so you can deepbond right away if they die.
Rauros2006-08-16 02:52:09
As a player of a Celestine character, I must agree. But it's hardly worth whining over, since I played through over a year without a symbol.
Vauraugli2006-08-16 02:55:48
I'm personally fine with the system the way it is. Taking into consideration the power loss when an org loses a Demon Lord / Supernal, the amount of souls needed is a good way to replenish that power. The possibilities of Symbols is what should make them tough to attain, not to mention from an RP point of view.
Rauros2006-08-16 03:03:35
In that case, Mages should have to bring 100 supplicants to the Tide Lords to get their staves.

And Nightkiss should be at 0% Mythical?
Sylphas2006-08-16 03:16:46
Or 50% Fabled.

No. I mean inept.
This will let me use Nightkiss as a Crow follower.
