Oooh, right. Keep forgetting that Ixion is Seren now. He doesn't still hand out resurrections to you guys with that amulet thinger?
Xenthos2006-08-16 21:40:06
Diamondais- Crow users got something now.
Diamondais2006-08-16 21:43:07
Oh, never mind then. When did they get that?

Yes because one person totally equals 2/3 of a city
So maybe you should ask for a single moonbeam artifact during the next auction!
Unknown2006-08-16 21:45:15
Yea, all crow users basically get the ecologist skill only better, since it has an offensive aspect to it.

Meh, I wasn't saying "Oooh look, it's fair cause he has the amulet!" Sheesh.
And 2/3 of a city is a gross overestimate. There've been times where after sacrificing, I had to pray cause guess what? No one else is high enough in sacraments to resurrect.
Unknown2006-08-16 21:51:11
So like.. I remember when I was six and going through Wal-Mart with my dad saying, "I want this, I want this, I want this, I want this". What' sad is, I remember that because of this thread.
Diamondais2006-08-16 21:55:34
When did Crow get that skill?

When did Crow get that skill?
It was the white hart dieing event, the spirits went to glom, white hart said something like "it's just a flesh wound!" all was the normal, except the Stag skill set gained sacrifice, and the Crow skill set got a nifty new type of defense that doubles as a modified type of trasmigrate.
Don't remember -when- it was, but it's in the events postings somewhere.
Diamondais2006-08-16 22:10:13
Oh, Darkrebirth. Psh, I wasnt here for that!
Richter2006-08-16 22:44:21
Moonbeam should be stopped by monoliths, for the simple fact that no one would ever be able to rescue one of my enemies when I trap them in a locked room behind a reinforced door.
Xenthos2006-08-16 22:50:01
Moonbeam is kind of annoying in that it can be spammed. So in a small area, you just keep doing it until you have one moonbeam in each location- and then you will make it in no matter what. This is actually *helped* by monolith sigils, since each moonbeam lasts 12 seconds instead of 6.

In a small area.. where every room is theoretically monolithed and has greaterpents so I can't just walk to you right? gotta love these hypothetical situations.
Revan2006-08-16 23:05:27
I find it hilarious that back when people were complaining about Moonbeam when it was being used against Magnagora, everyone was fine with it... but now, since Celest is getting the ass end of the turd, it's a horrible, evil thing that must be changed at all costs.

"Hypothetical"?
Small snippet of a small period a bit earlier.

This only failed because the person had little clue how moonbeam worked. We were in a three-room area, and if he had bothered to ask his guild he would have easily succeeded. However, *with sigils he would have succeeded* due to each beam lasting 12 seconds instead of six. Obviously, we weren't standing around in a room too long, or he would have arrived at us.
And this was just a small snippet of the whole.

You'll find that I've posted against it before, too.

Moonbeam spamming is odd. You'd make it with equilibrium even if it used it, unless you're a Tae'dae, maybe.
And that example is SO flawed. It would have to be a tiny area, and if it were, you could just cross the area boundary. Not to mention the fact that if you're running around like that, I could just walk to you.

Whoa, 100,000 replies in general.. Well anywho, if greater pents design is to stop every single form of travel when combined with a monolith then it should stop moonbeam. I doubt that is the case however, are we really ment to sit around -not- fighting during a battle? Nothing is ment to be perfect, everything should have a way of getting around it, either by killing it or.. well mostly just killing it..

This is a special area, hence the edited room names. It's a very tiny room location, difficult to get into unless you are patient. He was spamming moonbeam in order to bypass that.
However, how is it flawed? There are many locations where this can be done, and I know that a few Moondancers who enjoyed manse-jumping often spammed moonbeam in order to get into manses- another example of a small enclosed area.
Then you have things such as guildhalls... another small enclosed area.

Agreed. Moonbeam needs at least SOME extra restrictions. I've got another thread on the forums about it somewhere.
Sylphas2006-08-16 23:33:03
PORTAL EXIT . Wow, you just stopped them raiding your manse, that was hard as hell.
But yeah, in general, I'd say remove beamspamming.

Personally I think that Moonbeam(ie Prism) should be available to everyone or no one and I've said that in the past on these forums.
