If you've watched the show over the past couple days, you'll know there is a bridge in Hungary that needs naming, and that there is a poll online as to who (or what?) its going to be named after. So what you need to do is go to that poll and vote for Stephen Colbert! http://www.m0hid.gov.hu/vote?sortby=abc is the website, just go down to Stephen Colvert Hid (its under "S", not "C") and vote! You'll notice that the site is a little Hungarian, but voting is easy enough. Spread the word!
Incidentally, Chuck Norris is on there too, but is losing to Stephen Colbert by a good deal (1% of total votes )

Heh, I don't know if deligitmization of the internet is good thing or a bad thing.
I guess as a gamer its a good thing, but as a human its sort of a bad thing, since there is so little to replace it with.

Stop thinking and vote!
I wrote the post after I voted.
They say hindsight is 20/20 so I thought maybe I'd have a better opinion if I act now and think later

Hmm, the vote numbers haven't updated at since since the night before last. They should still be taking votes, think Colbert said that we had until some september date to vote. Oh well, keep voting anyways! Heh.
Acrune2006-08-22 05:38:59
Excellent news all, Stephen Colbert now has 30% of all the votes on the site He's up to 6,302,505 votes out of a total of 21,286,348 votes. Well done

It looks like we're no longer allowed to vote on the bridge name. Once Colbert got over 17 million votes (7 million more then the population of Hungary, says Colbert, and I don't feel like checking), it looks like the people in charge decided they didn't want a Stephen Colbert Bridge after all
Verithrax2006-08-23 07:18:42
I knew it was going to be denied from the start
Damn Hungarians.
Damn Hungarians.

Aw. My vote was wasted now.

Not necessarily. pehaps the hungarians will find the joke funny as well and vote for him anyways.

So, the hungarian ambassador or somebody like that was on the Colbert Report tonight, and announced that Colbert had the most votes on the bridge naming site. Unfortunately, in order to have the bridge, he had two minor requirements to meet.
1)He has to be fluent in the Hungarian language
and
2)He has to be dead
So, looks like no bridge for him, but he *is* invited to the bridge dedication. Oh well.
Edit: I just caught the beginning of the segment. Turns out there was another election after he won where he got 17 million votes, and he won again in the second one too

Just like I predicted... damn!
I had even forgotten I made the predicition.

The Ambassador said they'd look into avoiding that rule, seeing as how overwhelming Stephen's victory was, but I'm not sure how serious he was about it. Was hard to tell.
