Doesn't the paranoia affliction already do that? Although if it could be self-inflicted, that would be great for solo-mages/druids in a demesne.

Perspective Loss - Telepathy, maybe dreamweaving. Poison too?

Causes you to see random environments at the beginning of a room's description - taint, forest, wyrd or flood. Disables one's ability to dispell illusionary terrain, meld, forcetaint/forceforest/defoliate/infest/forceflood, create illusory terrain, and use trueground. Instead you get the message, "You're unable to discern the nature of your surroundings, and thus cannot manage to alter it in any way."

Tourette syndrome,

makes you randomly cuss at targets and or kick and punch them.

Watercurse - sipping potions/purgatives has a 50% chance of failing, but does not consume balance if it fails

Just browsing through this thread for no particular reason...\\

...wouldn't it be more of an affliction if it did consume balance? Otherwise people would just sip again immediately, yes?

PowerCascade - For every module command issued while this affliction is active, 500 health damage is distributed among the locked in crew when it is cured.

ResonantShield - Providing the shield absorbs this attack, the chance of summoning aethercreatures on a move is quadrupled, and creatures are more likely to choose that ship to attack while the affliction lasts.

wow, both cool afflictions.

Yes, but it was more to screw with systems. If it did consume balance, it would be one of the most powerful afflictions in the game if it had a purgative cure, which is what I was thinking would be a good cure for the afflict. This is not a problem, just something to keep in mind when placing the affliction in a skillset.

Remember that stupidity doesn't consume balance when you fail to eat pennyroyal, and it's quite effective at hindering curing itself.

An affliction that, when the player attempts to cure a different affliction, gives a random chance of saying the cure message but not actually curing the affliction. pureevil.gif

Now that's just cruel.

I think it would be kind of cool to have a multiple-room, non-demsene affliction that would affect others in a three-room radius or something. It would cost power, but the affliction wouldn't be necessarily powerful, just ordinary. Just an idea.

Maybe it would act like a demesne-type effect without being a part of it. What I'm saying is, you'd have to enemy the people you'd want it to hit, otherwise the others could be affected with only a slight case, more easily cured and less annoying/hurtful. If your allies are in the area, they wouldn't get hit at all. That would make it a bit more complicated to use, but it would keep the targets within your ideal range.

Cooks can poison food, right? I think it would be fun(ny) if herbalists could plant poison ivy to make people itchy and irritable. wink.gif

I sent this to my envoy, but apparently they are only taking 2 suggestions a week or something, so I'll post it here.

This is my idea for an Axelord trans skill (that is worth something):

SpineBreak: This could either be an affliction or an attack. For the affliction, it would be a gut critical wound.

"You may now strike so deep into the gut of your enemy that you can sever the spine of your hapless victim. This will shock you foe and cause them to loose feeling in places they didn't know they had."

Would cause stun (from the shock), and paralysis (until cured). Cure would be double regen to the gut.

OR, this could be an attack (like pulp or haymaker).

"You can now sever the spine of your hapless victims, causing them excruciating pain. Your target must be critically wounded in the gut or chest and be prone for this to succed."

Would have to be prone and critical in the chest or gut. Same results and cure.

Well, that's my idea.

Stun... and Paralysis... wow, that's... overpowered? huh.gif

I think you should also work on how a warrior attacks, even in trans you tend to miss most of the time despite having combatstyle accuracy...

That's not a new affliction. That's just combining two afflictions together in one attack.

New Affliction!

Curiosity - Cured only by Focus Mind, causes you to LOOK, QL, and Examine/Probe any item located in your inventory or your room, as well as examining player descriptions. This will tick every X second (preferably every .5 to 1 second in order to cause spam).

Umm, no. No affliction that requires 912 lessons of discipline to cure. Asthma was moved to a salve cure for a REASON.

Hmm I forgot about that, how about pennyroyal then?

Still makes it a new idea. The Axelord skillset is the bastard son of the warrior specs.. just trying to improve it.
