Well someone here loves to empress victims next to a statue, where he'll just either steal stuff from them or let them waste their vials, the statue is located just outside of Magnagora, is it or is it not allowed to have the statues along the highways tuned against enemies?
Everiine2006-08-20 15:32:44
It was always my understanding that you couldn't tune statues outside of your territory. Unless he has it tuned to personal enemies or something where those rules don't apply.

he tuned it against personal enemies, still doesn't sound right

I mostly hear its not liked, I think once heard it wasnt allowed. Might have misunderstood someone on the last bit though..

Hmm, this reminds of the old days where some people would just attack each other by summoning into statues on the highways. Fun fun.
I don't think there's anything officially against it, but it's still a dirty trick. Or strategy, whatever people want to call these tactics nowadays. Just gotta try hard to avoid being summoned =/ (reject the person on your allies list)

Recently Narsrim posted a message he got from one of the admins saying that tuning statues against org enemies in a public area was issuable, but tuning them against personal enemies was acceptable.

Seems like a good idea for the former.

I'm glad we don't even the chance to use this trick, but it is slightly annoying how much more utility statues have compared to totems.

But with totems, you get Totemreturn!

I know you are joking... but I just need to be sure... you're kidding right?
Sylphas2006-08-20 18:23:49
If I need to return to the Serenwilde, I can teleport for no power. Totemreturn isn't even all that much faster.
Now, if I could stick a totem on Vesucia, I'd be happy for it.

It's called a joke. That's one of the skills Elryn and I flagged for OMG THIS SUCKS MAKE IT WORTHWHILE ALREADY! along with druidry totem (the stag), staghide (well, we're not sure it's a problem, we need more testing), squirrels, pathtwist, hallucination motes, sleepmist, daeg runes (the faeriefire one), enlarge animal (), herb renewal, and nature gate.

That's bizarre. Not long ago, one of the Hartstone had a statue on the Alabaster Road. I asked one of the divine about it, and was told that it was actually allowed, just not smiled upon. I still had the statue dismantled, but ran into problems with the people who put it up when they claimed that it was not illegal. Looks like my memory was right to begin with, and I just got some mis-information.

Whats wrong with enlarge animal? You can influence an animal(something no one else can do), get xp and esteem, and then raise it's level temporarily so if you then kill it you'll get even more xp.
Vix2006-08-20 21:14:24
I don't think the extra xp is worth the power though.
Unknown2006-08-20 21:27:55
Maybe I'm thinking about a different skill? Ecologists have a skill which lets them use Empowering, and Weakening Influence attacks on non-intelligent beings.
Vix2006-08-20 21:30:41
Besides empathy which lets them influence animals, they can also enlarge them for a power cost (8 power is it?).
Unknown2006-08-20 21:34:22
Animalgrowth is 5 power.

Don't know if sharks and the like count as animals, but with dross power, it should be semi worth it now.
