I was wondering if you people could help me choose. I'm currently using Ethelon's free system (which, although great, is a bit obsolete), but I'm now considering buying one.

Since there are so many systems at varying prices, I really have no idea which one to buy and such.

If anyone could give me advice (maybe even listing the various systems and their prices), it would be greatly appreciated...

For zmud I've found Murphy/Thorgal's to work amazing but for MUSH I think Ethelon has a full one you can buy

(I have both MUSH and Zmud on my computer, I just play on MUSH because of Ethelon's system.)

If I had to choose between Ethelon's commercial and the Murphster... I'd choose Murphy's in a split second. Go for it.

Too bad you're using MUSHclient, as the zMUD systems are more prevalent (and prettier, too).

Also, keep in mind that you're not going to get unbiased reviews of systems from anyone here. Some people who don't fight much or who just don't have the weapons that other fighters have will write excellent systems, and other people will put together systems that are faster but they may spam commands like 'stand' as a failsafe. Each system will have its own advantages and disadvantages, so it really boils down to what you want and what you're willing to put up with in a system.

As a matter of personal preference, I liked Thorgal's old one best. It's no longer available, but it makes the root of the Murphster system. It's amazingly easy to update and manipulate, which I believe is the best feature any system can provide. Murphy is also pretty good about putting out regular updates when he's active.
