Angel mindread is fun.
And yes, it is annoying that if the elite top-tier expects people who have problems fighting to always run around with Tosha, etc up. Quest blessings should be a bonus now and then, not something you whore out to be able to compete.
I whore out Tosha to compete. With the ridiculous amount of damage Warriors do. Even Icarus hits for more than 50% of my max health, through shield with cleaving too.
Terenas2006-08-29 05:20:52
I feel your pain. I'm a Warrior with 118 cutting plate and he hits me for 1800 damage with Sweep, 1400 with a normal swing. If I'm taking that much damage, I can't imagine what races with weaknesses to lightning/fire and weak armor are taking.

A questable ability to dispell illusoins. you, Malicia, and your beam of light
Shorlen2006-08-29 05:56:13
A quest that grants the CHANGESELF skill.
A quest that grants the DREAMBODY skill (just the leaving your body one, not any others, so if you can't walk back to your body, you're screwed).
Steady - A buff that gives you a 50% chance to resist a knockdown effect (the falling into sitting position part).
Bodily Attunement: A buff that tells you what damage type you were just struck with.
Spacial Awareness: A buff that lets you move normally while blind, but still not target anything (like lipread semi-protects against deafness)
Catfall: A buff that makes you not get a concussion when falling form the skies, and maybe lessens the chance of breaking legs when falling from the trees.
Aura of Philanthorpy - A (power costing or questable) buff that makes denizens give you gold when influenced regardless of the influence style used, essentially adding on the effect of Charity influence to all other types.

I've been wondering about how to get illusions without being it abused for combat and here is my idea.
Each time you illusion, you get peaced that cannot be cured, like from Avechna, but lasts for only about 5 minutes. This should prevent the illusion from being used in battle, while not preventing the illusionist from doing anything after the ritual.
Since it will not be used in battle, make it so that people cannot discern it as an illusion.
And lastly, make it unforceable, so that it cannot be used to force peace on someone.
Ideally, everyone would then be able to illusion for roleplay's sake, so make it a blessing or buff that everyone can get.

I don't like that... Verithrax can ICly conjure flocks of seagulls, but a random warrior can't. That's the point of illusions being a skill. And it's abusable, you can still harass people with it or use it in group combat with a peaced newbie.
Unknown2006-09-01 04:02:50
That's why it's a buff. It's not a permanent ability, and you'd have to work for it. Random newbies won't be able to complete the quest if it is a buff. About the harassing part, well, mages get that same issue, don't they?
Verithrax2006-09-01 10:50:11
...but for us it's a skill.
Unknown2006-09-01 14:12:05
I know, what I mean is that there is no way to mechanically stop people from harrassing people.
Genos2006-09-01 23:51:14
A quest that gives you an item you can use once and any loyal ents in your entourage will glow with power, becoming unkillable for a period of time. Maybe as a drawbac they can't be cloaked?
Exeryte2006-09-02 02:25:07
How about if you could do a quest to get the amount of critical hits you do to go up by 5-10%?
Sylphas2006-09-02 05:02:01
+10% crit rate is CRAZY. There are 1k+ arties that do far less than that.
Abethor2006-09-02 13:45:30
Not sure if anybody said these, so if someone did just ignore them.
Perhaps a questable buff that would allow you to temporarily grow wings to fly.
A buff that makes you slightly better at influencing denizens, NOT other players, just denizens. Like Tosha or begging/supplication in general.
This is a bit out-there but maybe doing a quest in aetherspace that would treat your aethership as if it were one room smaller. i.e. a two-room aethership would go as fast as a one-room. Of course if your ship only had one room it would stay the same speed.

Ooh, no, make as fast as it would be if it was half it's actual size (rounded up)! But how would the buff be given? That's the big question. A diamonut that you attach to the command chair? Dunno if a quest can do that...
Athana2006-09-02 20:34:40
A buff that makes it impossible to be knocked off your mount? PLEASE or an artifact...but that's off topic

Maybe the main denizen would sort of cast a spell over the aethership/module. Then, there could be like a MODULE STATUS (not sure if there is one) and that would list all Modules in the aethership as well as any upgrades/buffs present in the ship. You're right....it's a bit skeptical on how it would be given...

Acutally, there is an empath skill that's essentially that, which gives all the modules and their status. I guess it could be there....

Fine, then make it under 2-5%. And it'd only be for about a RL day. I don't feel like spending a beastload of credits on a critical-enhancing artifact if it could just be done through a quest.

You might want to edit this post, or they won't do this buff at ALL... they WANT you to buy credits!
Abethor2006-09-03 00:58:47
Heh heh heh. Good point Xenthos.
